Story
Shepherd lovers, meet Argos.  This boy is full and life and enthusiasm.  He loves to play with other dogs and is passionate about the water.  The kiddie pools are just an appetizer for him.  Spray him with a sprinkler or direct from the hose and he dances a jig as he tries to drink the water!  Argos doesn’t know he is big, and we couldn’t help but smile when he tried to sit in a small overstuffed chair.  Seems he is in need of a loveseat!  Argos loves attention will be utterly devoted to his family.  Looking for a fun loving fellow?  Check out Argos!   ##1567836##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bucky!  NEED IMMEDIATE ADOPTION OR FOSTER HOME FOR BUCKY!   Shortly we will no longer be able to foster this wonderful dog.   Please, your help is needed.   Bucky will be an absolutely great member of your family!    Bucky Here!  Darn I am cute!   If I am not adopted soon, I will end up wearing some funky things.   STOP!   I do have my dignity!   ADOPT ME!!!!    Bucky - here again!   I have had a great week with my foster family.   I got to stay outside because of the cooler weather and play ball more!   I also got to snooze on my foster mom's knee while she was working.   I am patiently waiting for my forever home!   Come and get me!   Hello! I am Bucky. I am so happy I am with my loving fosters. I would like to meet my forever family!  I might sound and look scary, but all I want is love and to play ball. I want to tell you about me. I did have a car accident, that has not stopped me. I have had basic training, so i am a better boy! I am healthy and want to run and chase the big birds from flying over my yard. My foster family tells me I am so goofy.   Yeah, I look scary and I do bark letting everyone know I am here. When you come in my home with my family, I want to smell you then want you to pet me. My foster family does have some repair men come in the home. They leave my best friends. I would like to meet the lawn guy, however the big machine he rids on is scary. It reminds my of my arch nemesis the vacuum cleaner.   When I was rescued, I found out what hit me was a car. That was bad. After having doctors fix me up I have not looked back. I run, run, and run some more. I love to play ball in the back yard. I did have problems around cars. My loving fosters showed me it was no problem. They gave me bacon going into the car. I love bacon. Now I am excited to get in the car for a ride, especially for a pup cup. I love taking walks, I would prefer runs. My foster family does not run, I understand.  Oh I love my trainers, they were so good to me! When I was found, I did not know what to do when my fosters were talking to me. After two weeks away from my foster family I now understand. I can sit, go to place, lets go, and down like the best of them. I have a good life with my fosters and AARF. I am ready for my forever family. Will that be with you? ========================================================= Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
I was left in front of an abandoned store to fend for myself. My luck changed, however, when some kind humans got me to safety. I am a young and active guy. I would love a doggie friend or even a jogger to take me out. I do know a few commands, am in excellent health, and can't wait to find my forever family. I have not met cats yet.

These pups are in League City, Texas too!

Story
Hi, my name is Amber and I, along with my 3 siblings, were left in a box at a local shelter. A call for help went out and SCP stepped up to take us in and help us to find our new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 1/29/2024 and have some German Shepherd Dog in my ancestry. I'm learning so much now that I'm at home with other dogs and cats and I love everyone. No kids at my foster home but I'd probably do OK with them if they can put up with my puppy antics. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop. I give the cats a wide berth and I’m on my way to being house broke. I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. The adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!April 23, 2024, 4:32 pm
