Story
Choo Choo is a loving, affectionate Chow Chow who is about 3 years old and weighs about 43 Lbs. Choo Choo has had good intros with other dogs, but can be selective, so careful introductions are required. He would prefer a home with experienced dog owners as he can be true to his Chow personality. No young kids please! He is beautiful and he loves posing for the camera. He knows the 'sit' command and walks well on leash. He is very treat motivated which will help with training, but isn't necessary to win this boy's affection. He has good manners and will take treats nicely and he calmly soaks in all the attention he can get.You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/Ask to meet me today!! Story
Merlin is a wonderful dog & very loved in her foster home. She’s a Chow Chow, & her adopters should have some understanding of her breed. Although she warms up quickly, she tends to be cautious in the beginning & occasionally growls out of fear. Families with older children will be considered on a case by case basis. Children will need to be able to control their behavior around her. She’s done well with the dogs she’s met, but after raising her puppies she might also love to be the only pet getting all of the attention. She loves to go on walks, usually keeping a loose leash & she doesn’t bark when passing other people or dogs. She’s not been around cats, but she’s very interested in the small critters like squirrels & bunnies that she’s seen outside & might want to chase a cat. She’s calm & relaxed at home, but also is up for a little playtime. She’s mostly potty trained & does okay in her crate, but also has been trusted to not get into trouble when given free roam. Merlin has bilateral medially luxating patellas- grade 3 and 4. Although this doesn’t appear to have an affect on her quality of life now, she could need surgical intervention in the future. Applicants are encouraged to consult their veterinarian to learn more about what the long term care could entail before applying. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, apply to meet Merlin!DATCP#483538
