Story
Phoenix, a beautiful Golden Retriever mix, found herself on death row along with her entire litter of puppies. It's a heartbreaking situation that happens all too often when owners don't want to take care of their pets and leave them to be euthanized. But Phoenix's story takes a turn for the better when a networking post asking for help caught the attention of some kind-hearted individuals who were determined to find her a safe place. Despite the trauma of being in a shelter and facing death, Phoenix's personality shines through. Her foster says she is truly amazing. She is great with kids and okay with other dogs if introduced properly. Due to her past, she is extremely sensitive to correction and wants nothing more than to please. Phoenix will even tuck herself in at night and sleep with her crate open. It's clear that Noreen is a sweet and gentle dog who deserves a chance at a happy life. And that's exactly what the people who rescued her are hoping to give her. Phoenix deserves a forever home that will spoil the absolute crap out of her. Noreen's story is a reminder that there are so many dogs out there who are in need of loving homes. It's heartbreaking to think of all the dogs who are euthanized simply because their owners didn't want to take care of them. But it's heartwarming to see people come together to save a dog like Noreen and give her a second chance. We can only hope that more dogs like her will find their way into loving homes and never have to face the threat of death again. *Currently fostered in Wellington, CO ##1705114##

Story
Scheduled to be euthanized in a Texas shelter, this tiny baby was staring down the face of death at a very young age due to overcrowding.  We pulled Catie and her littermates in an effort to give them all a chance at life and love! This sweet little girl is the smallest of the three, weighing in at around  37 pounds. Like typical puppies, she is curious and craves attention. She enjoys playing, though her siblings will occasionally team up against her, but she takes it in stride. Catie sleeps individually in her crate at night and is mostly well-behaved, signaling when she needs to go outside. She can also spend short periods in the crate during the day without any issue. She is getting the hang of house training, and learning to sit on command.  Catie has visited a farm, and showed interest in the horses and birds, but was respectful and didn't chase after them. She is ready to find her forever home and settle in!If you would like to donate towards reducing her adoption fee, please do consider making a contribution that would be applied towards that need.Venmo: Denkai-Animal SanctuaryPayPal: info@denkaisanctuary.org *Currently fostered in Aurora, CO ##1816333##

Cory will sleep through the crate at night, and is okay with spending short periods in it during the day. She is mostly well-behaved, signalling when she needs to go outside. Her house training is coming along splendidly, and she is working on her basic commands.  Cory visited her foster's daughter's property recently, and while curious about the horses and birds, she behaved respectfully and did not chase them.
