Please contact Kallie Brennan (kallieb@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet boy ISO fresh start and love! TURF NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Turf         Best Guess for Breed:  Flat coated retriever and border collie mix Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of April 2024       SEX: Male  Approximate Weight:  60 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Turf is Looking For:   Turf is looking for - well, he's looking for his own turf! Through no fault of his own, this sweetie ended up in the shelter. He's in his prime as an adult and eager for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures his new humans can dream up. Making new pup and people pals along the way are on his wish list, as well as quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But - most of all - he wants to look adoringly at his humans and think 'mine.' He wants to have - and be - a loyal companion. What do you say Does he get to be yours? What My Foster Says About Me:  'Turf is doing great with training. He is good with kids and is learning simple commands quickly!'   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Name:  Wade        Best Guess for Breed:  Flat-coated retriever/retriever mix Best Guess for Age:   1 year old as of April 2024      SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:   45lbs as of April 2024   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven’t seen Wade with cats or kids, but he can be tested!   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here.   Wade is Looking For:   A forever home - could it be with you? I enjoy long sniffy walks and cuddling up on the couch after a long day. Other dogs have told me how much fun they have at the dog park too - do you think we can go together? I can't wait to make doggy and human friends in my new home! I'd also love to go to obedience class with you so I can show you how good I am (and you can reward me with treats and belly rubs when we're done!) What do you think? Could I be the perfect addition to your family? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Please contact Kallie Brennan (kallieb@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.not of the Moe and Larry type! CURLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Curly      Best Guess for Breed:  Flat coated retriever and Lab mix    Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of April 2024     SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  50 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:    South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom ride up here.   Special adoption considerations: Curly is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky!  They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months.   Curly is Looking For:  A home where he gets treated with dignity and respect. He's tired of going to the dog park and being greeted by jeers - 'Where's Larry? Where's Moe?' and being victim of juvenile slapstick pranks. Enough of that. Plus, his coat is extra lush and gorgeous, so that name is extra irritating.    What he wants is long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures his humans can dream up. He's in his prime and world exploration is high on his wish list! Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on it too, but you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved for all his days - and to whom to devote all the loyalty in his heart.   What do you say? Will that be you?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
