Kincaid gives a whole new meaning to 'wide open' - he looks at everything as new and exciting! His combination of retriever goofiness and chow independence makes him a free spirit. He is looking for a partner who will train and engage with him respectfully. He also would enjoy a lot of time to run, roam, and explore on his own. A fine companion, he will be a good guardian of his home. He has not been compatible with other animals.  ~  Will be spayed/neutered prior to leaving the shelter.~  Est DOB:  Jul 2020 ~  Intake weight:  54#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlApril 15, 2024, 12:45 am

Story
A SWEET, ACTIVE & PLAYFUL GUY:  Approx. 6 years / Approx. 40 lbs.   Hello, I’m Alex!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so grateful that they have taken me into their program so I can find a new family to love and be loved by!  I was adopted for a few weeks, but they realized I needed more exercise than they could provide.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program and had a blast!  Now I’m ready to find my furever family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them a lot, so if you have a very playful dog at home who would like a buddy, let’s meet!  My trainer thinks that I’d benefit from having a dog playmate in my new home to help me burn off some energy and pal around with, especially when you aren’t home. / Cats unknown. / I met nice kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them as well as in a home I visited! When we played, I was a little mouthy and jumpy, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super sweet and affectionate fellow with a very active nature who wants to be very active with my family!  I’m a real people dog and have great focus – which is wonderful for my continued training.  I am a masterful high jumper, so best not to leave me unattended in a yard.  Perhaps we can learn agility together for fun!  I heard one of the volunteers say that I’m a happy and goofy boy . . . his 11-year-old son even specifically requested to take me out for a second day trip . . . sounds like a ringing endorsement to me! I’m showing some separation anxiety so I’d love a family member who is home a lot, perhaps a stay-at-home or work-from-home person that I could hang out with and be active with too.  I think I’d also be a good candidate for doggie daycare which sounds fun to me! / My energy level is very high at 9-10 so I need regular exercise please.        • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program for 3 – 4 hours at a time, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time in a crate. / My potty manners have been good at MM’s and on the prison/foster training program schedule too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys (especially tennis balls and stuffed toys) and love to play, so I look forward to lots of play sessions with you.  A fenced yard would be great in my new home, but I may dig, so – as mentioned above, don’t leave me there unattended.  I like to splash in my water pail so maybe I’m a water dog in the making, lol.  I enjoy getting affection and will reward you with nice kisses.  I also enjoy walks, so let’s go lots of places together and of course be active! / Other than what’s mentioned above I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I’ve started 2 medications for some separation anxiety and not getting as much exercise as I need, and they are helping! So just ask for more information about that.  I am looking for a home where my family will be active with me, and we’ll have lots of fun! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 15, 2024, 2:08 pm

Story
Quinnley is a 1.5 year old Lab/Bulldog mix. Quinnley has lots and lots of energy! She loves to run around, play, and just have a grand ole time! Quinnley came to us after her owner was arrested and there was no one else to care for her. She has been nothing but a sweetheart the entire time she has been here, but she definitely deserves to be able to get out of a cage and have a life of freedom and frolicking! Quinnley loves people of all varieties, but she doesn't have great spacial awareness sometimes... so little kids might get knocked down. We do not know how Quinnley is with other dogs, so we suggest a meet-n-greet!  The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
Astro is a 10 month old Lab mix who came to us with his sisters Angel & Royal. Astro is a very mixed breed young man who has mostly Lab-like features but is on the shorter side for a Lab. He is the largest of the three siblings but is surprisingly the most docile... or at least he has been while he has been here. Astro likes affection the most out of the three, which is evident through the warm gaze he gives to anyone who pays attention to him! Astro is still a puppy and will need to find a family willing to spend some time working with him and training him. He has so much potential! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Story
Royal is a 10 month old Lab mix who came to us with her siblings Angel and Astro. Royal is a very mixed breed young lady who has mostly lab like features. She is a very playful and spunky lady who cannot wait to find her furever family! She is the largest of the three siblings, but is still on the smaller side of a Lab mix. Royal likes to play outside and would be excited to find a family who has a yard for her to play in. She is still a puppy by definition and will need to find a family who understands that she still has some maturing to do! We know that with some patience, love, and training she will be an excellent dog!
