Story
Willow was rescued from hurricane Irma. She was born July 8, 2017 and is the runt of her litter. All her brothers and sisters are twice the size. She is a sweet girl, but we have a 15 month old and she hasn’t been very happy and had a minor nipping incident a few weeks ago while both were playing with a stuffed animal. We would like to find her a good home.

Story
Meet Bunny or as we refer to her our sweet as honey Bunny! She is about 1 year old hound mix who weighs about 45 lbs. Bunny loves people and does great with other dogs! She is a young and active girl who LOVES playing with other dogs and will require another young and playful dog in her forever home. Bunny is an A+ snuggler! She can be found curled up with the foster's dogs or in bed under the blankets. She loves her new "rescued" life so much that she isn't happy being alone for long so she will need a forever home where people are around in the day. She also loves children and is fostered with 2 young children. She walks great on a leash but can be shy to new noises thus a nice quiet neighborhood suits her best. Bunny is spayed, up to date on vaccines, she is heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***We do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 5 unless they currently live with a dog or have lived with a dog in their home*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. They grew up together in a Puerto Rico shelter and now they're eager to come to the DC area and split up to get their own forever homes! You can imagine how different the smells in this area will be from Puerto Rico! Cocoa is oh so eager to have her own humans to trot alongside, checking out all those smells; for romps in parks; and all the adventures her new family can dream up! She'd also like to make pup and people pals along the way, and attend dog school to show how super smart she is.  Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved for all her days - and to have her own humans to bestow all those adoring gazes and tail wags upon. What do you say? Does Cocoa sound like just the right warm drink for you, especially headed into those cooler fall days?
