You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application.Roscoe - 22 lbs- 1.5 yrs old  PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE APPLYING: Roscoe can not go to a home with young children. He does bite. He does not like chaos (kids running/yelling/wrestling). He does not like getting meds, nails clipped, or being brushed.  He gaurds his crate, food bowl, water bowl, people, and toys from dogs (most likely kids also). Has not gaurded things from the adults in his foster home. However he has bitten the adults in the foster home. Anything that he does not like- he will bite over.  He is about as cute as they come. He has been completely fine with the cats in foster. He is also fine in a crate, is not a huge barker, and alerts us when he needs to go outside.  He however is a really bossy boy once he is comfortable. He needs firm rules and boundries from his owner that is not scared of him.  He is fine with most dogs when there are not food/people/toys/etc invovled. He is bossy with dogs just like people. He will need to go to a local adopter that is willing to use our trainers to assist with his transistion. I am neutered, vaccinated, health checked, dewormed, and micro-chipped. Adoption Fee: $700 +taxes/feesIf you would like to meet me please fill out a pre-adoption application at www.tailsrescue.orgHappy Tails Adoption Center is open on Sundays from 12-5pm. We are located at 7331 Baker St NE, Fridley. Dogs are at events based on the availability of their foster family. Please fill out a pre-adoption application so we know you are interested in meeting/adopting one of our animals.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.The breeds of our dogs and cats are a 'best guess.' We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Cornelia. I am a very affectionate and smart young adult female French Bulldog/Beagle mix who loves to follow my family everywhere and be as close to them as I can. Since I’d rather spend time with my people, toys have yet to pique my interest, but I enjoy going on leashed walks, exploring my surroundings, watching the squirrels, and I really loves me some treats! In fact, I’m very food motivated and get so excited when I know treats are involved that I start jumping for joy! My family is trying to help me learn that remaining calm while awaiting treats is not only good etiquette but quite frankly, more lady-like. All I have to say about that is…I will try! Hee, hee!! I have not met any cats, but I love to play with other dogs. I don’t have a lot of experience with kids, but I have been good with the few I’ve met thus far. I do not like being left alone and will bark if I am, so hopefully my family will be home with me most of the time .  I am still working on potty training and I’m pretty vocal when first put in that cave you humans call a “kennel/crate”, but I do know what “sit” means. A forever home without shared walls would be ideal - bark bark! I am a super sweet girl with a friendly disposition who is simply looking for my fur-ever home with a patient, unconditionally loving family that will NEVER give up on me! If you’ll be my new family, I promise to love you with every ounce of my being, and we will have the most amazing life together. Love Cornelia *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello! I’m Winston Churchill, an adult French Bulldog who is a total love bug if I do say so myself! Ok foster mom says so too! My foster family also says that I’m handsome (TOTALLY TRUE) with a mellow yet playful personality…also true! I am most happy nestling into my people (it’s my comfort zone!), and I am an absolute pro at couch cuddles!! The truth is, I crave love, affection, and safety, and my biggest dream is to be YOUR fur-ever companion! In addition to cuddling, I enjoy playing with (and/or destroying) stuffy toys & squeaker balls, I also love chewing on Nylabones. Not the really hard bones though because I recently had some fancy dental work done, so they aren’t good for my new pearly whites! Toys & bones aside, if you REALLY want to know the way to my heart bring on the belly rubs, head scratches, food (did I mention I LOVE breakfast?!), and treats! In fact, if treats are involved, I will undoubtedly master any trick or skill! Speaking of…I’ve now learned to “sit”, “touch”, “spin” and “leave it”…that last one being important as sometimes I think my poop looks like a snack! Hee, hee!! Don’t judge! Anyway, I sleep like an angel in my crate if my people are nearby, but I don’t like being left alone and will bark, bark, and bark some more if I am left in that thing with no one around…I mean seriously is wherever you’re going SO important that you can’t take me with you!?! I’m just sayin’! My foster fam is starting to trust me being outside of the crate for short test-runs when they leave. They told me they can see everything on the doggy camera, so I’ve been on my best behavior and just look out the window quietly waiting for them to return! With that said, it would be good if you’re home with me lots and that my forever home didn’t have shared walls. Apartment living is not ideal for me – bark bark! Moving right along, I have not met any cats, but I think I’d be ok with them if they keep to themselves LOL; I don’t like a lot of commotion and I’m working on building up my confidence, so I think a household without kids would be best for me; I do fine with other confident, mellow dogs—in fact I recently figured out that playing with my sibs is fun! The warm spring weather has really brought out the best in me! I love walks at the park (although when we walk near our house, I don’t understand why we walk AWAY from all the good things already at home!). I am potty trained on a schedule, and I finally worked up the courage to go down a couple steps all by myself to our wonderfully fenced-in yard (stairs are scary to me – but I can now do one or two!). I won’t do my business on walks at the moment, so a fenced-in backyard would be a great option for me! When I venture out to new environments, I may shy away from people. And when friends and family come to visit the house, it takes a while for me to warm up to them. But foster mom is working on showing me that the big world isn’t so scary! In the end, I am an angel of a boy who is simply looking for YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. Will you please be my heart? I promise I will love you more than you could EVER imagine! ALL my love, Winston Churchill *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.       In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Winston Churchill also had surgery on hisnares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. This is reflected within her adoption fee. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Do you want to meet me? I will be at Unleashed Hounds and Hops (200 East Lyndale Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55405), for an adoption event Thursday, April 18th from 6:00-8:00 pm. I will be there! Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hi – my name is Malaga and I hope my initial shyness doesn’t turn you away from adopting me.  You see, once I warm up to you and feel safe, my goofy personality comes out to play.  Although I am very skittish, I am also very submissive.  I never show any aggression or bite.  In fact, I have a 5-year old friend here at my foster home and I don’t mind her.  Due to my skittish nature, I do need a fenced yard.  It’s just best for all of us that way so I don’t get away. The fenced yard has also helped with my potty training – with a good routine I am doing great. We are also working on crate training and I am a superstar! While I’m good with other dogs, I don’t show much interest in them – I am just a mellow gal! I don’t bark often (usually just when suuuuper excited when you come home).  I’ll even manage a few zoomies when you return just for show.  And if you tell me to “lay down”, I am smart enough to know that’s when I need to lay on my bed.  Just don’t stand/walk behind me (remember that skittish thing I have?),  I like to be the one in the caboose section.  I don't need another dog in my home, if my people are home often. If you are, having another doggie buddy to hang out with would be great! Overall, I’m a chill dog.  Sleeping/naps are what I do the most. We are working leash walks and I am a little alarmed with the pull of the leash, but we are practicing!   If I sound like a good match for you, that’s wonderful!  Until I hear, I’ll just stay here napping and gnawing on bones. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Look, I’ll invite you to my monologue in a second, but the first thing I gotta do is destroy this rope.    I’m Danny DeVito, some call me the entertainer, some the snuggler, and I’ll tell ya straight from the horse's mouth, I’m a short stack of the best kind of French Bulldog on the market. 20 lbs of straight muscle this guy. I got other nicknames like HouDanny because I’m a sneaky prankster, I disappear and I sniff around where I ought not to, so ya gotta keep an eye on me. You’ll find me if ya just use your own schnozz because I got that earth shattering gas sometimes that smells like I ate a jar of bean dip. I am kinda cute though because my foster mother calls me Wiggle Pig. I accept it because my snores are adorable and I’ll greet you using my whole body.   I’ll tell ya what makes me happy, being around a human that will accept my attention and give me toys. What else? Baths. Sittin’ under hot water,  relaxin’, having a good time, there’s no other dog that could soap-up like me, it’s like an oasis, I’d do it for hours if I could. While I’m doing that, why don’t ya grab me one of those nylon bones and put it on some blankets, or a cozy spot. And ugh, food too. I’ll eat anything. That’s my biggest motivator, treats and grub, that will give me a taste of the good life.   Going down stairs wasn’t meant for my frog body, be ready to watch me tumble after two steps. Do us both a favor and carry me down. If I gotta number two I’ll bark, but number one, we gotta work on routine and schedule. Also I'm still trying to figure out the leash thing, but I don’t go far from my foster ma when I’m outside as it is. Speaking of, when we have snow outside, I think, “what is this nonsense?!”, and I’ll run back complaining in discontent if I’m in a yard. The snow hits my belly, and doggone it's cold!! I’ve learned quickly that people are great to sit on and get warm. I’ll probably conk out there while you watch the tube. Actually, you’ll probably conk out with me because I'll wake you up everyday at 6:00 a.m. barking if I'm in a crate because I gotta use the bathroom. Cocka-doodle-doo to you my friend. Haha, the early bird catches the worm.   I can be around cats and dogs, or a crew of both, but I don’t require one in my new home. Not sure how I am around kids, I haven’t met them. If you say “outside” or “come” I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that, maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, just say it louder because my ADHD probably got the best of me. So what do ya say, do you think you want to be my new best friend? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.   In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Danny Devito also had surgery on his nares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
