Story
Athena is a five and a half year old German shepherd husky, she does not get along with other animals does not like children or women would need a single male who can give her plenty of attention and keep her active. She is a really good dog very stubborn but she's a sweetheart she has been recently having hip issues which have contributed to her aggressive nature towards our other dog. She has growled but she has never bit me or our children! My husband got her when he was a teenager and she is very attached to him and recently she's been acting out because she is not getting the attention that she needs we also live in a small area where she doesn't get to run I really want to find her a good home! someone who can take care of her the way we can't! We just don't have enough room for her! And I really wish we did!

Story
Rylee is a very loyal and loving dog for us. She does have allergies and does require medicine daily - steroid and antibiotics. The cost is relatively inexpensive and can get from most any pharmacy. This combined with a single protein diet (Salmon) has helped keep her allergies at bay. She doesn’t do well around other animals so single pet home is best for her. We’ve had her for 8 years (since she was 8 weeks old) and has always been around our two children since they were little. She is accustomed to staying both indoors and outdoors (large outdoor kennel). It does take her a little bit to warm up to other people but once she does she enjoys being around others. Due to our very busy schedule we aren’t able to give her the attention she needs and deserves. All vaccines are up-to-date and AKC. Hoping someone can take her and provide her a loving home.

Story
Meet Brynn! Our beautiful Brynn is a two-year-old shepherd mix who is ready to race her way into your heart. All 45 pounds of her is eager to be your new best friend! If you're looking for a dog that can keep up with you on your adventures, look no further than Brynn! This girl absolutely loves to run! You can see the sheer joy on her face as she zooms around the yard. A fenced-in yard is a must for this fast-paced pup! Brynn will need a family that will be devoted to keeping her exercised and engaged. After she's done with her cardio, she doesn't hesitate to lean in and and ask for some ear rubs. Brynn knows "sit" and is capable of learning even more. She takes her treats gently and is a very affectionate girl! She will benefit from continued training and we know she'll make you proud. Based on our evaluation, Brynn would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She may have the potential to live with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Brynn is the pup for you, visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and fill out an application for our bubbly Brynn!

Story
Looking to find a forever home for my 4 year old German Shepard. He’s a vary affectionate and protective boy who loves to play fetch and cuddle on the couch. We rescued him from a breeder in Detroit and conditions as a puppy where terrible and because of this he came with certain anxieties such as nervous around other dogs and nervous in cars. He is neutered, and crate trained/house broken. I’m looking for someone who is familiar with this breed. He’s very active and needs someone who can give him the time to get his energy out. He is also very protective, so I need someone who can understand that and take that into consideration. He is great with kids and cats. He has shown aggression towards dogs in a protective setting but when he was in a daycare he was sociable with other dogs after some time. I just had a baby and my biggest concern is that he’s not getting the attention and care that he deserves. My family just wants the best possible life for him!
