Story
Dallas Brooks is a fun, energetic puppy in a big dog body. He's estimated to be eight months old and has lots of room to grow. He's all love but is in the awkward stage of "What goes first, my feet or my face?" He's a playful guy who is still learning to read social cues. He sleeps in his crate and walks well on a leash. He loves a soccer ball, but prefers that it is slightly deflated so it's easier to carry around the house and yard. Dallas loves people and just wants to belong! Dallas also knows a few commands like sit and down. A little more training and some patience with Dallas will mold him into the perfect companion.Dallas Brooks is adoption ready. This handsome shepherd mix is still working out the kinks with his ear quality but they are alert and attentive, even when they aren't standing at full salute. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and walks well on a leash. He knows a few commands and loves a good, partially deflated soccer ball. He loves to "go" and picking up car keys or a leash will quickly convince him that he's about to go for a joy ride. Dallas loves people and enjoys playing with other dogs. He hasn't quite figured out social cues and is working with a trainer to learn when no means no. He's very smart, eager to please, and with the right companion who is appreciates the energy and intellect of the shepherd breed, he will be a phenomenal dog!If interested in adopting, please complete an application. An approved application from The Maggie Society is valid for up to one year. It is not necessary to complete additional applications for dogs or puppies of interest if you have already been approved. Story
My foster mom says I am a very fast learner but need consistency in my training. I am hyper like a puppy and very energetic. I would do best with family with teens or only adults. I would do well with younger dogs my size. I play rough. I am working on crating as I was originally not a fan of it.

Story
Zeus is as handsome as his name conjures up. If you are a GSD lover, he will likely grab hold of your heart instantly.   Zeus has some wonderful personality traits; he is smart, obedient, and eager to please. Since Zeus is smart and inquisitive, he needs a family that will not only keep him physically active, but also keep him mentally active. This can be through scent games, interactive toys, hide & seek, learning new commands through positive reinforcement training, and much more.   He loves being outside and going on walks. Since he so handsome, he will definitely be a head turner when out and about on daily strolls. Zeus does walk nicely on a leash and has meet some doggie friends along the way. He is looking for an active family and someone who wants to walk, hike, jog, run and get out each day for some cool activities. In addition, he'd really prefer someone who is home a good amout of the day, work or school from home kind of thing would be great!   He would be good as an only dog in the home and when meeting new pups is one that is slower introductions are is preference. In his foster home, he has been introduced to the smaller dogs on leash (since he is bigger pup), so hasn't been off a leash around them yet, but he sniffs around them and has been well behaved. Zeus has been good with the kids he has meet but hasn't had an opportunity to meet any cats.   Zeus would love a fenced yard; he does love being outside, so a home with a ~5ft fenced is on his list of requirements. He is still playful and enjoys toys, fetch, tug of war, and goofing off with his people. He is a happy boy that will settle in and give you a daily dose of love and kisses. Even with his size, he is gentle and sweet and is happy to be near you but not on top of you.   FYI - Zeus is already house broken and crate trained another 2 boxes to check off! He sleeps nicely in his crate next to his humans.   As part of Zeus’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Zeus, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1987411##
