Story
Koda is a 2-year-old, all black German Shepherd. Closely bonded with his adoptive brother, Kai (white shepherd pictured) whom we would love to place in a home with Koda, if possible. He has been with us since he was 2 months old, in the same home as Kai along with two cats whom he gets along with great. He has been around infants and children and does very well, he is house broken, crate trained, and knows many commands (sit, center, wait, L/R spin, etc.) He has never been the aggressor but is reactive when tested by another male dog, shows fear-based aggression with people when fed and caged, but never bites. VERY high energy and anxious. Kai has separate listing with info. They are wonderful dogs who I love deeply with all my heart and soul, it is with a heavy heart that I make this post. Please consider adoption carefully and understand that it requires a lot of time and effort to provide the kind of life he deserves. I hope he can make you as happy as he has made my family and me.

Story
Kai is a 2-year-old, all white, full blood German Shepherd. Closely bonded with his adoptive brother, Koda (black shepherd pictured) whom we would love to place in a home with Kai, if possible. He has been with us since he was 2 months old, in the same home as Koda along with two cats whom he gets along with fantastically. He has been around infants and children and does very well, he is house broken, crate trained, and knows all basic commands (sit, wait, paw, lay down, etc.). He isn't reactive, has never shown aggression, and ultimately has no behavioral issues apart from chewing things up on occasion. Koda is listed for rehoming as well with all of his information. They are wonderful dogs who I love deeply with all my heart and soul, it is with a heavy heart that I make this post. Please consider adoption carefully and understand that it requires a lot of time and effort to provide the kind of life he deserves. I hope he can make you as happy as he has made my family and me.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Harmony is a two-year-old Belgian Malinois/GSD/mix. She was saved from a horrible situation and it is now back to her normal weight and trying to heal emotionally. Harmony is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She loves her toys and she loves to play ball. She would do best in an active household without young children and without cats. She would do best with another playful or easy going dog.   Harmony should be with someone who is mostly home at first. She does well in her crate while someone is in the house and she does OK in the house when she is alone but in the crate and alone causes her anxiety. She trust most females but needs to warm up to some men. She should have slow introductions to all new people while she learns new socialization skills.  Harmony needs someone who is patient while she is healing from her abuse. Once she knows that she is safe with you, she gives her whole heart and wants nothing more than to snuggle up beside you, go for a run, play and play and play with her toys, and even crawl under your covers to sleep.  She is super smart and knows basic commands and is very food motivated so continued positive only training would be wonderful for everyone. If you think that you can love Harmony forever, she will gladly return your affection.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
Name: Lotte Gender: Female Age: 6 years Current Weight: 78 bs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: German Shepherd Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 8 years old or older Apartment Friendly: Unknown Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes  Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it  Ideal Home/Adopter: Lotte's ideal home would a place where the humans understand the needs of her breed. Like all shepherds Lotte requires mental and physical activity. Larger space would be best for her as she is heavy and not always careful with her movements. Likes: She likes plushy toys, bones, chews, puzzles etc. Basically all the good stuff.  Dislikes: Nothing seems to upset her terribly. What makes this dog special: Lotte has come a long way in the weeks we have had her. She has had to adjust to new people, new house, new foster siblings all while being treated for heartworm and having a spay surgery. She needs to be kept on crate rest starting in a few weeks due to her treatment, but after that she will love walks and enjoy some lovins’ from her people. She enjoys other dogs in the home but doesn’t need them around to feel secure. Currently, she is taking some CBD to help her anxiety which manifests as pacing and panting. This has been a blessing for her, and us! She is working on some basic commands but right now we are focusing on her health! Lotte's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Lotte, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1946174##

Aberdeen

German Shepherd Dog Labrador Retriever

Female, Adult
Lancaster, OH
Size
(when grown) -
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Miss Aberdeen was unfortunately brought in as a "stray" by her owner. We are unsure as to why they felt the need to drop this sweet girl off, but we have been told that she is potty trained, good with cats, and loves children. Once she's settled in and things are a little less exciting she is ready to cuddle up right next to you. Aberdeen is pretty fearful of men, and would likely prefer a more quiet home without many male visitors. Aberdeen can be picky about her dog friends and would likely do best in a home where she could be the only pup. Don't let that stop you though, this sweet lady is ready for a life outside the shelter where she can soak up all the love and affection you have to offer. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Aberdeen home. If you are interested in meeting with Aberdeen, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 52 Age: 5yrs 3mths 0wks
