THIS IS A COURTESY POST, not a Loved at Last dog. Please contact the person or group below for more info. For more info or to adopt, please contact Ralf at  ralfaggarwal@gmail.com. Adoption fee $100. Rafa was rescued from a Korean meat factory at around 3 months, and fostered until he was 7 months old, before he was adopted. He’s currently in Penticton, BC. Rafa is a sweet boy, but is in urgent need of an experienced owner that can direct him and provide a better home. He is good with people and has never shown any signs of aggression towards humans, but has shown reactive aggression towards other dogs and must be kept on a lead until he is taught to play with other dogs in a non-reactive manner. He loves being petted! Rafa has a high energy level and needs to have a space to run for at least 30 mins 3 times a day, preferably with other dogs. He truly enjoys swimming in the summer to fetch a frisbee and running to play fetch in large fields. He would be great in a home with a mature dog that is still active and playful. In fact he would benefit from it and hasn’t been exposed to cats. He has prey drive and will run after a flock of birds or deer, but will recall with the signal of clapping hands. He’s not a flight risk in general but gets easily distracted. He’s ok with leash walking but needs more work. With a training collar, he has learned to sit when he is forced to stop. Rafa is housetrained, but he doesn’t enjoy the crate. He barks and whines when left alone in the crate. No resource guarding and no destructive behaviour towards furniture – food of any kind on the counters is fair game for him. Rafa is a beautiful, loving dog and wants to play, please and cuddle. He is a very smart dog, and with an experienced, confident dog owner, he will flourish. Rafa is a dog's dog. He needs another alpha doggy companion brother or sister – a dog that can show him the ropes – plus an experienced owner with time. He wants direction and he is looking for it! He comes with a crate, 2 harnesses, 2 leashes, a training collar, his toys to play with and fetch, feeding dishes and food, even a cute set of socks for the winter...and a great BIG heart! If he sounds like your kind of companion, please contact Ralf at ralfaggarwal@gmail.com to set up an interview.  ##1783795##

Story
Hello, My name is Jim and here is a little info about me:Breed: Jack Russell Terrier/Maltese mixAge: 2 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 25 lbsHeight: 13 in I am a fun-loving dog with energy galore.  I know I will thrive on your love and affection as well as your guidance and direction.  I love to cuddle and hug and seek your affection and reassurance regularly. My care taker tells me about how much she is proud of me – and I like that.   I was found roaming the streets in a small village in the Middle East.  I was underweight, dirty and very hungry.  But then some people came along and rescued me! My rescuers are not sure if I had owners or not – but I've been in a shelter for some time now.   I love to play with other dogs and I am living with lots of dogs right now at the shelter. If you are a fun loving, experienced dog owner, please apply for me right away!  I want someone to love me for the rest of my life. I would do best in a home without cats.  The shelter staff are training me in social etiquette inside and outside the shelter and I’m getting lots of exposure to new situations; my training will need to be ongoing in my new home. Let’s have some fun!  I am a happy go lucky boy, with a moderate/high energy level, just perfect, right? Energy Level: Moderate/high I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: Unknown Prey drive: My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Training: basicLeash skills: goodHouse trained: Yes but be prepared to train me in a new home My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1948240##

Story
Hello everyone! My name is Colette, and here is some info about me:Breed: Jack Russell terrier mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 11 kgHeight: 35 cmHighlights: love people, rarely bark, very intelligent  I am such a precious little girl! You'll find I really love people. This is my story. I was adopted by a family when I was just a small puppy. They would keep me at their villa in the garden. They dropped me off at a pet hospital late at night and left me there with a note and phone number of a lady they knew was involved in Dog Rescue. I was basically abandoned at the vet. I had many wounds and infections on my body from being left outside. The vet hospital gave me medication and shaved me and my family didn’t even pay the bills. Fortunately the vet hospital called the lady, whose information was on the piece of paper and she came and picked me up and placed me in a boarding facility. I have been living there ever since. I get along very well with the dogs there and also with people. I have had a very bad experience with people, but I still have a sweet demeanor. Unfortunately, though because of my experience, I start shaking when someone wants to get too close to me. Despite this, I hardly ever bark, and I’m not aggressive at all. When someone gets close to me and touches me, I begin to trust them very quickly. In general, I’m a sweet girl and I also get along with children. Please adopt me! I’m really hoping you can change my perception of having a family. Where I was before was definitely not my idea of having parents who love me. I hope to see you in Canada soon! Energy level: moderate  Prey drive: none observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me. should these behaviors arise  Fears: because of my bad experience with people, I shake when someone gets too close to me. However, I quickly begin to trust them if they are nice to me. Please be patient with me during my transition. Training: house skillls and some leashLeash training: a bit. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchip. I initially had many wounds on my body from being left outside, but I am perfectly healed now. My adoption fee is 850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes transportation to Canada, if accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters.
