Story
Re-homing Moose. He is the sweetest dog and great with kids and all animals. I have three kids and I have started working as a travel nurse to support my family, so I am no longer able to provide the care that he needs, which breaks my heart. He still has accidents in the house. I have read that this could be due to him not being neutered. My friend paid 900 for him, so I am pretty sure he is a purebred Golden-doodle, I just have no papers on him.

Story
Hi, I'm Jonny! I'm a small (30 lbs.), very cute 2+ year old Goldendoodle. I came to GRRAND in March after an Amish breeder didn't want me anymore and had sent me to be euthanized. Thank goodness the vet realized I was a good boy and called GRRAND to come get me! Check out the group pic of me (on the left) with my BFF's Faith and Ivy!!! I've definitely had a rough start in life, but I'm so thankful GRRAND has taken me in, and they are so patient working with me. Slowly but surely, I'm learning to trust a few people.  I have been in a foster home, but they couldn't keep me because of travel commitments. I did make progress and even jumped up on the bed once! I love, love, love other dogs and have zero aggression tendencies. I share my kennel space with three other dogs from Amish breeders, and we get along great. I'm a good jumper, so I can jump right over a 4-foot fence when left alone without another dog in the yard. The kennel team thinks I could even climb a 6-foot fence if I was scared enough! Because of this, I'll need a home with a good fence AND another confident, stable, friendly dog. I might also not be the best match for younger children. I know I'm safe and loved at GRRAND kennel, but I sure would like to have a home to call my own. I realize I'm a challenge because of the mental scars from my past, but I hope there's a patient, loving person out there who will give me a chance!   From the GRRAND kennel staff: 2 year old Jonny, one of the dogs rescued from the puppy mill earlier this year when they were dumped at a vet to be euthanized because an Amish puppy mill was facing an inspection. (PLEASE remind your friends: do not buy puppies from Amish counties, pet stores, or online!) EXCITING NEWS as Jonny has come a long way since early May when he went to live with his foster. He was terrified of every movement, sound, or touch, only finding comfort with the other Amish dogs. Stressors made him tremble and urinate. Since arriving at his foster home, he has begun to trust humans.  Jonny now enjoys being the center of attention but is still reluctant to seek it, although when the other dogs are getting pets he slinks right into the mix like no one notices him. Trust is his issue. He remains fearful of strangers, slow to warm up. Jonny likes going for short walks and is good on the leash but doesn't understand cars, bikes and groups of people yet. He is beginning to eat in the presence of humans and near the other dogs but still retreats if anyone or thing comes near. He has shown zero aggression. He has spent extended time with a boisterous 5 yr old grandson and seems to enjoy small people (they are more trustworthy), whining for more when the kiddo goes inside, however, Johnny has never lived with young children and GRRAND will not place him in a home with kids under 6 as there is no history of him with kids. Jonny has been non-reactive with a cat, allowing it to rub under his chin. Jonny remains a flight risk; so he will need an above ground secure fenced yard, he knows his name and responds with acknowledgment and a short advance, but he still doesn't come, so at his foster home he still wears a short leash, just in case. He definitely knows how to play keep away! Jonny is beginning to show evidence of joy and happiness, with his head held high, tail and ears up, his bouncy run and the zoomies. He is learning to chew on bones but still ignores stuffies. This little guy was so thin, matted (he had to be shaved) and fearful of everything when he arrived. His fur is growing back, he has put on weight, and he is beginning to trust and be happy. Instead of cowering in fear, he follows foster mom everywhere. Jonny is a sharp little guy who is really ready for a family that will love him. He's come a long way and still has lots to learn and trust to develop but he's ready to establish that bond with that forever family. He is on his way to being a great companion. If you want to show Jonny how great a forever family is, please fill out an app: If you are interested in meeting Jonny, please complete an application: grrand.org/adopt grrand.org/foster-a-golden-retriever-with-grrand/ GRRAND dogs are looking for their foster and forever homes in our current service area of Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington, and Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. Story
This adorable Goldendoodle is 2 year old, 80lb Lion, and he is looking for a full-time home where he can put down some roots. His temporary fosters think Lion’s the greatest, but he stresses HARD when he has to spend time in the kennel. Can you help him while we help find his people? Lion is currently working with a trainer to work through some stranger danger and wanting to guard his people. Because of this, he’ll need a home with no young kids. Now for the positives: Sweet, affectionate and silly pup. Wants to be your best friend and always by your side or in your arms House-trained, no messes when left alone, loves car rides, playing in water, and eating veggies and fruits. Good on leash, knows sit and stay, very trainable Loves mud, getting in bathtubs and running showers (!), wants to always be with his “person”  Very eager to protect and please Loves to play catch with his toys Good with people and dogs Needs time and love Lion would love someone who is willing to bring him with them on their daily adventures and who can give a lot of love but knows how to set boundaries. He loves running in the dog park and will find any water to play in! We don’t know about cats but, he has ignored them while on walks As we learn more about Luscious, we will update, but if you would like to meet this boy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##1632685##

Story
Hi! We are very bonded 22-month-old Goldendoodles. We arrived at GRRAND in March after an Amish breeder surrendered us. We didn't have names so, as it was springtime, our GRRAND people called us Daffodil (Daffy) and Iris! Unlike our friends at the kennel who also came from Amish breeders, we are more social and love all people and other dogs. We play in the play yard daily with other GRRAND dogs, and we love it when volunteers play with us, especially if they have treats. We've been working on our walking skills and are doing well. We love to get outside of the kennel to meet all the new smells!! We've only ever been in a kennel, but we are perfect, and beautiful, so we are hoping someone will see this post and give us the opportunity to go to a real home with a TV, doggie beds, furniture, and, of course, a loving family. If you meet us, you will fall in love and we hope you take us home forever!   From the GRRAND kennel: Daffodil (Daffy) and Iris are a bonded pair and need to stay together! They came into the GRRAND program with her litter mate Iris in March of this year from an Amish breeder. Dogs from Amish breeders are usually not well socialized and very timid of humans.    These two are an exception; they have come so far in  seven or so months they have been with us.  They love people and being petted. They LOVE treats. They love playing with the other sweet dogs at GRRAND Central Station. They are high energy and love to run and play but have shown no aggression to people or dogs. We recently started walking them off property on leash; they love the new experience, smells, sounds, wildlife,  and are doing great! They still pull some, but we continue to work on that.  They do not mess in their kennel but that doesn't necessarily mean they are house trained. It does indicate they will be easy to train. We now believe this beautiful pair are ready for a home with a secure above ground fence. They will be flight risk pups until they are settled so no children under 13. Please consider taking these pups " ##1677941##

Story
Lucy is a large Goldendoodle, estimated at around 18 months old, at around 60lbs, about the size of a standard poodle and roughly 24 inches tall. All of her puppies have found their forever families and NOW IT IS TIME for Lucy to find hers!!! This is what her foster mom says:  "This poor girl was dumped on the side of the road as a pregnant momma and had to be trapped for us to take her in. When she was dumped, she chased the car crying. She stayed at the spot for 2 days and no one could catch her. A kind soul named Rhonda trapped her and held on to her for a few days until another kind soul was able to transport her to me. Lucy is shy and a bit insecure. She depends on my dog to figure out what to do and how to act. Lucy is needing a home with a secure fenced in yard and a home with a confident and stable dog to help build her confidence and show her the ropes... but not an Alpha reactive dog, because Lucy will growl at first but she doesn't attack. She will growl when eating if someone comes close to her bowl but again, not react in any other way. She has been through a lot, and had to fend for herself, and needs time now to take care of herself and learn to trust. She gets along with both dogs and cats and is learning to play with our dog Skye. She is completely potty trained and signals us by standing at the door whining. If Lucy finds the right family with no other dog, they MUST be home with her as she can not be home by herself much. She does not like floors that are not carpeted. We place carpets strategically in areas for her to cross an uncarpeted room. We are slowly reducing those and she's getting better. She doesn't get on furniture. She's allowed to but doesn't do it as she loves laying on her dog bed! This cutie is super sweet and loves getting attention! Car rides were hard for Lucy at first. I believe she thought we were going to dump her when we went to the Nature Center for walks. It took awhile but now she enjoys car rides as she is feeling more comfortable. We are working on getting her to jump into the car. She walks well on a leash and really seems to enjoy the walks.  She does have Lyme disease but no ill effects and will be on antibiotics after the pups are completely weened. She will be a loving addition to the right family. She now has a new prosperous life ahead of her! If you would like to meet Lucy, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##1884378##
