Story
Scratch is a 1 year old neutered male great dane/terrier mix who weighs 85 lbs. Scratch is looking for a new home after his person was no longer able to keep him due to landlord issues. This guy has been nothing but sweet, but is clearly confused about why he isn't in his home anymore. He will need a family willing to help boost his confidence as he wasn't socialized much in his previous home. He seems to do well with other dogs and previously lived with a small dog without issue. Scratch has SO much potential and has learned so much already! He loves to be with his people and playing with toys. Fetch is his favorite game! He's done well on walks and hasn't been reactive to those he crosses paths with. He is shy with new people at first, but warms up when he's given a chance to feel safe. Scratch loves bananas and cheese, but hates peanut butter. While he loves to play in true puppy fashion, he's also an expert snuggler. Scratch has always known love from his family and cannot wait to land in another home full of kindness and people who love him. Please help us find Scratch the devoted forever family he so desperately deserves!Interested in adopting? Story
Get a load of those GIANT paws!! Spot is an 11 week old female great dane/anatolian shepherd mix puppy who weighs about 21 lbs. We feel lucky to play a role in these pups' story and help match them with loving forever families. An older couple took in a very pregnant female around the first of the year. She had roamed their neighborhood as a stray for days, and it became evident she had been dumped. Mom is black with a little bit of white with a smooth coat and weighs at least 90 lbs. This sweet couple proclaimed themselves to be cat people, but also animal lovers. They took her in and cleared out their entire living room to make a nursery. She delivered eight puppies on January 12th. Homes were found for 4 of the puppies, leaving these four to us. This little family has been so loved! Time came for the puppies to leave their mama and give her time to herself without babies to tend to. As we stood outside the baby gate, watching them play, you would've thought we were standing at the hospital window looking at human newborns. The couple called each of them by their name, which, except for Firstborn, matched some physical characteristic they had. Anyone who has taken care of a litter of puppies gets that. They referred to them with so much love and affection. Saying goodbye to these babies was very difficult for the couple who cared so delicately and deeply for this little family. But knowing they are the biggest reason these puppies have a chance at the lives they deserve makes the heartache worth the journey. Each of these puppies was loved, socialized, and doted on. They are going to be big dogs with the sweetest personalities. They'd love to have other dogs to grow up with and learn from in their forever homes. We are committed to finding these pups homes just as loving as their saviors were. Please help us match them with the forever families they so desperately deserve!Interested in adopting? Story
Mando is a big ol’ cuddle bug! He LOVES lovin’s. He loves people, kids, walks, toys, cuddles, and kisses. Mando was found at a home as a 5 month old puppy on a chain with no food or water. The owner was approached and eventually surrendered him. This poor boy is now 10 months old and has lived in a shelter his entire life. Mando would thrive in a home and deserves one of his very own. He is wonderful with other dogs and is untested with cats. Mando is a 10 month old male Dane mix who is approximately 60 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Mando is a big boy and still puppy playful, so he may be too much for small children. Fence required. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org. If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!
