******** THIS DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER******** THIS IS A COURTESY POST********CONTACT ROBERT RIOS AT (916) 307-1413********** This dog is no longer able to be housed due to the owner having unforeseen circumstances where he can no longer provide care. Koko has lived with other dogs and kids but seems to be a little fearful towards children. Koko enjoys playing out in the backyard and is vocal with people he sees going by. This is a great dog that loves to protect his home and is very loving once he is warmed up to you. He has all his vet records and would love a chance at a amazing new home. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Story
My name is Marley and I'm approx. 3 yrs old. I am a companion, friend, protector and life-changer. I'll add a dimension to your life that may be missing. I will work for you, guard you, keep you company and love you. When I arrived, I was battered and defeated. I was dealt a bad hand, but I responded with courage. I don't judge the folks who neglected and abused me. I don't hate. I don't discriminate and I'm trying not to hold grudges. I DO know how to love unconditionally, and that's all I want in return. Don't pity me because I am a rescued dog. Adopt me and let me walk with greatness by your side. Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. The average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must-have. They are NOT off-leash dogs and a Pyr off-leash is called a "dis'a'Pyr". Some Pyrs do well with other dogs and some don't because by the virtue of the breed traits they were bred to keep out intruders and can consider some dogs as intruders. While they make wonderful pets and family dogs, they aren't for everyone so be sure to understand and learn about the breed traits of this breed or any breed you might be considering.

Story
April has been patiently waiting for her turn to find a loving family for two long years. She's watched as other dogs have come and gone, wondering when it will be her turn to be loved again. April's story began with difficulty, believed to be a rural working dog who ended up in a kill shelter, terrified and not coping well with the chaos, she was scheduled to be put to sleep. She was rescued just in time. During transport to the rescue, April managed to escape and spent three days running over miles of farmland in California's central valley. When she was finally captured and brought to safety, she was in a terrible state. April had massive infections, open sores, dehydration, and was very hungry. Her coat was a mess of mud, debris, burrs, and other substances. Despite her rough start, April has settled into the rescue and is a great girl. April would do best as an only dog in the home. She is loving and a great watch dog, sounding the coyote alarm and keeping a close eye on her surroundings. One of the most adorable things about April are her cute little pixie ears. While she's happy at the rescue, and eagerly throws herself down on her bed for belly rubs, she longs to find a family who will appreciate her demeanor and style. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will adore you and keep you safe, April is the dog for you. She's ready to bring love and joy into your home. Could you be the one to give her the fresh start she's been dreaming of? Contact us today to meet April and make her dreams come true. Considering APRIL for adoption? Note: Great Pyrenees are considered a Giant Breed. Average weight can be 100lbs. or more. They bark, shed and have a wanderlust, so secure fences are a must have.
