Story
Hi I'm Lilo!  (previously Elsa).  I am a Great Pyrenees looking for my forever family as an only dog.  My loyalty and love is infinite!  I'll be by your side as much as you want me to be.  I love cuddles, cats, hikes, and car rides with the window half way up becuase I just love the fresh air so much that I once tried to jump into the wind!  But don't worry, I am a very calm girl in the car and can usually be seen falling asleep with my head against the window.  I know basic commands and am open to learning anything new with the right treats!  I was adopted by my current family at a young age before I knew what I liked and didn't like.  I was found running loose in Kentucky far away from any houses.  Don't ask me how I ended up there, I'm not telling!  As i grew up, I realized I prefer to be the only dog at home, although i do still love to go play with other dogs outside of my home.  Inside my home, I love to chew on bones, lie by my cat brother's bedroom door in case he needs me, and sleep on soft beds by the window with a good view.  I am physically a very strong girl and somewhat energetic, so I'm hoping to be loved by someone who is active enough to take me for a daily walk, hike, trip to the park or play/work with me indoors.  ##1726567##

Story
I got Bella from a family friend 5 years ago when her previous owner passed away. She is 7 years old. All shots up to date. No health issues. Great with kids (I have 4) and has been with other dogs. Does not like cats. We lost our home due to financial struggles with lots of yard space, to one with very little space. Also per our rent agreement, we cannot have a dog over 25 lbs. (Bella is 90 lbs.) so she is currently with relatives who cannot keep her long term. The only option is to find her a new home, or take her to a shelter (which I do not want to do). Have all vet records. Free to good home.

Story
Fred is a very good dog. He is loving, and good tempered. He would do best on a farm, or a large property. He loves to be outside, and patrol the yard. He is very territorial, and so he will bark if/when someone comes to the door. He is housebroken, crate trained, and is overall very well behaved. We have children, and he is always very patient with them. He is shy to newcomers, so it may take him a minute to warm up to you, but once he does he will love you forever. The other thing to mention is that he is very territorial over his food, so he should be fed by himself, and not with another animal around. Other than that, he is a very good boy!

Story
Joey and Katie came to the Sanctuary together and have always been together. Joey takes all of his cues from her. He is a timid boy which takes some time to get to know. Once he loves you he will follow you anywhere, as long as Katie does too. After working with him a couple of months we are able to walk him with the pack of dogs at the Sanctuary but he still needs vigilant supervision with them. He is good with Katie but doesn't seem to know how to interact with the others and can become agitated with them. Joey and Katie seem to have had little socialization outside of their own yard. A positive reinforcement trainer would be great to have on hand when adopting them. They do need adopted as a set currently. We were hoping to work on Joeys socialization skills enough that they could be separated but it hasn't worked out as so. Katie would do fine but we fear Joey would fall apart. They are both large teddy bear dogs and would do well in a large fenced area. They like to come in but as long as they don't get too hot or wet they like hanging out outside. If your interested in adopting Joey and Katie it will take multiple visits before they are comfortable with you enough to go home. To adopt them please go to www.libertyacresunited.com and submit your application. Their adoption fee together is $150. For more information you can call or text 765-969-4782 For more information on the animals available for adoption and more information on the Sanctuary please visit us a www.libertyacresunited.com and don't forget to follow us on Facebook

Story
Zumi is a big boy with big feelings. Once you get to know Zumi and he gets to know you, you will find him to be a hilarious goofball. He loves to eat sticks and play fetch with them (retrieval rate is maybe a 35% but hey, he's trying!) He is trained to use both a Halti head collar and a muzzle. He is actually really good at training in general! He has his favorite people here and he becomes a complete puppy when he sees them. Zumi's best feature is that he LOVES other dogs. He has never had an issue here with another dog. Even dogs who were trying to be negative with him, he would always meet them with a play bow or walking the other way to give them space. He is such a fantastic helper dog in our play groups. Zumi has issues with kids, and with strangers. It takes him a while to warm up to people, he was bred to protect and be a guard dog and on top of it was not socialized when young. He will need a home that understands this. A person who sees how perfectly loveable this guy is and has a quiet household or who is willing and able to manage his anxieties and guarding instincts. The payoff is huge, as you will have a giant protector who will make you laugh every single day.
