Story
Meet Bunny!
Bunny is a 6 year old, 12.5-pound Havanese. Bunny is a lovely soul with a chocolate nose, lips, eyelids, paw pads, and the most stunning amber eyes that melt one's heart and soul. Bunny is a puppy mill rescue who has slowly begun to thrive and learn about the good life in foster care!
Bunny tends to be shy and nervous around humans but is coming around. She is content to hang out watching TV with her humans as well as relaxing in her doggy pen when her humans are at work. She is trained to use wee wee pads and won't be a hassle during the winter when you can't take her for walks due to the weather! She also sleeps peacefully through the night without making a peep. Bunny is perfect in an apartment or home because she is not a noisy dog.
Bunny enjoys bath time, following her furry foster sister around, plenty of snacks, chicken, and dental bones. Bunny enjoys lounging and observing the dynamics of the
household. Bunny would thrive in a forever home filled with patience, love, and understanding. It would be even better if there were some friendly resident dogs to keep Bunny
company but not necessary! She will happily learn all the wonderful doggie ways of life that she didn't get to experience before, little by little, in her new loving home.
Bunny is currently enjoying her time with her foster family in Manhattan, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.
Bunny is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event. Please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
