Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but can fly to a Canadian home near you! Story
Greetings and salutations friends!! My name is Chloe (Chona in Mehicoo) and here's some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Husky Age: 1 year approx. Gender: Female Weight: 48.5lbs (22 kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was found pretty down and out on my luck! As if it isn't hard enough being a husky in Mehicoo, I was also passing my time by wandering around the streets with ticks, fleas and a pretty big ouchie on my paw (which ended up being a dislocation!). Thankfully, my rescuer happened to live in the neighbourhood I frequented and she scooped me up and took care of me. After a few days at the vet it turned out someone came forward and claimed they were my hooman...but they didn't want me any more. Can you believe that?! Thankfully I was able to find a temporary home where I could recover my physical injury (still a work in progress, and I may not be able to put my full weight on my paw again...) and hopefully find a furever home with you in the PNW!!  TEMPERAMENT - My foster says that I am a perfect angel dog. I get along so well with all hoomans, dogs and even cats! I am smart as a whip and have some basic skills and training. I'm super sociable and just love being loved and returning the favour! I would do so well in a family home in the Pacific Northwest (where I can finally experience some cool weather and snow hehehe).  ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown (but can be tested!) Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.  Cats – Yep, you can see more here.  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – These are a work in progress. My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and patience :)  House trained – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing very well!  Crate trained – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing very well!  Car rides – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing very well!  Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I dislocated my left front leg and had to have surgery on it. I am currently attending rehabilitation sessions however it is unclear if my leg will be fully able to support my weight. This doesnt stop me from running, playing and having fun! I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2014261##

Story
Hello, my name is Moose, here’s a little info about me: Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback and Siberian Husky mix Age: 3 years old Gender: Male Weight: 106 Ibs Height: 64 cm (25 Inches) Highlight(s): mellow, loving, and a real cuddly guy I am a rare beauty, a unique mix of part Rhodesian Ridgeback and part Siberian Husky, with lovely tan colouring.   Despite my size, I truly believe I am a lap dog and am happiest when snuggling with my family. I am a very handsome boy and like to maintain my beautiful coat with lots of brushing (don’t forget to tell me I am a beautiful boy in the process!) Sometimes if I think my human missed a spot I will gently chat and tell them so. It's clear to all that I am relatively low energy but am great around other dogs, cats, and children. I must admit that I am not a huge fan of the rain (but who is?!) and may need some encouragement to venture out into the wet for bathroom breaks. As you can probably tell I am a well natured and faithful companion who just wants to hang out with you wherever you go.  House trained, and not much of a barker, will occasionally talk, when sharing my opinion! I am an unaltered male. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Here are my video from playing with my sister Moose. https://youtu.be/oe0hvh_p39I Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2013549##

Soffia's BioHi there! My name is Soffia! Want to learn about me? Read below. Breed: Husky / German Shepherd mixAge: 9 Months Gender: Female Weight: 20 kg (44 lb) Height: 50 cm  My siblings (Samuel and Sebastian) and I had a rude introduction to the world. We were found in a box by a trash bin at only one month old. My rescuer had found us and took us in. We were found to have parvovirus. They had us treated and now we have recovered! Given the first part of our life being scary, we are very grateful to have been rescued. However, we are ready to spread our wings! Recovered and well, we are excited to meet our new families. The shelter is getting a bit too cramped for us now. Are you looking for a new addition to your family? Maybe that’s me! I am smart and funny! I’ll make you laugh and keep you on your toes. I like to cuddle and I’m more calm than my brothers. My rescuer says I have a medium energy level. I would do best in a home that has time to exercise with me! I also love mental stimulation. If you meet those two needs, I think we’ll get along just fine. I get along with other dogs and I like people! When it comes to kids and cats, I haven’t met any yet! My rescuer notes they have not observed any prey drive. I am house trained and leash trained! But I am the prime age to absorb more information! I would love to learn new tricks and skills!  Energy Level: Medium I get along with:Dogs: YesPeople: Yes Kids: UnknownCats: Unknown Prey drive: Not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise.  Fears: None observed. Please be patient in assisting me in my transition.  Training: I am house trained and leash trained! I would love to expand on my learning.  Health Notes: found with parvovirus at one month old. Has been treated and recovered. I am neutered and vaccinated.  My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Hi there! My name is Sebastian! I am super cute and cuddly, but also a smarty pants! Read on to learn more about me!Breed: Husky / German Shepherd mixAge: 9 Months Gender: Male Weight: 22 kg (48 lb) Height: 50 cm  My siblings (Samuel and Soffie) had a rough introduction to the world! We were found with parvovirus, but my rescuer had us all treated for it. We have recovered and are doing well!  I’m currently living in the shelter, along with my siblings, and let me tell ya! I’m just about ready to go. I’ve out grown this place and I’m ready for a new beginning. Could you be the one to offer me that? My rescuer says I’m a smarty pants, agile, and very energetic. I’ll make you laugh and then come cuddle with you. I can be calm when it’s needed but given my age, I love to play and do activities.  I would do best in a home that can provide the mental and physical stimulation I need in order to thrive. Given my breed, I’m smart and will want something to keep my mind busy. I need physical activity as well! If you go for hikes, I’d love to join! I get along with other dogs, and I like people! I haven’t met any kids yet though, same with cats, however my rescuer notes that I haven’t displayed any prey drive.
