Story
Mojo’s an ADORABLE 4y/86lb Akita/Husky w/ 2 blue energetic eyes. The SOLE reason we must find him a simpler lifestyle is I bring him to work & he’s very “monogamous” w/ pettg. I work 1-on-1 as a therapist & it’s too much exposure for the Akita in Mojo, so loyal to the owner. My PTSD/cancer clients can pet him only briefly, unlike 8 years w/ my previous Akita-husky-malamute. For the last 3 of Mojo’s 5 mo.s, clients settle for RELISHing him at their feet -tho he sneaks in “quicks licks” to the hand upon greetg. So, Akita = no greetg other dogs, no dog parks. For me, no road trips w/ a friend w/ her dog. BUT, Mojo’s glorious parts made us postpone rehoming: with his owner, he is SUPREMELY affectionate. He walks to my bed & as I plant my feet on the ground & lean over, he nestles his nose in my chest at length. Mojo is FINE w/ friends on walks, at home, etc -as long as they pet briefly. I just need ZEEERO risk a dog will react w/ PTSD/cancer clients for obvious reasons. A gifted Akita!

Story
Star is fostered in CA. Star is great with dogs, but having energy can play excitedly and may not be a fit for puppies or elderly dogs. Star is a gorgeous girl with brains and energy to match! She might be blind, but that doesn’t slow her down at all. She navigates just fine and all the important things (food, sniffy walks, petting) don’t require sight. Star also had a couple of seizures, which the vet is calling idiopathic epilepsy since no other cause was found in testing, so she takes Keppra and that has prevented any more episodes. She has already learned a lot of words, including: focus, sit, step, and walking. Given her puppy energy level, she would love to be in a home with another dog her size or bigger and no small children or cats. Star *loves* meeting new people and dogs, exploring her environment, eating, walking, and snoozing in her crate or in the car. She is still learning to be the best dog, but she is a quick study. She needs a family experienced with Huskies or similar breeds who are willing to continue her education. If you are active and ready for an energetic beauty, contact us to learn more about Star! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

I am 54 lbs., spayed female husky with a rambunctious personality who's ready for a new adventure. There is nothing I love more than exploring. I would love to find someone with the same wanderlust as me so we can travel together! I get so excited sometimes that I forget to listen, its a husky thing. I would love to be a model citizen but I need help sprucing up my manners. FOSTER CARE! My adoption and training fees are 50% off!  Hi, I'm Thor! I'm a 1 year old, neutered male, Siberian Husky mix and I weigh 51 pounds. Have you ever wished for a dog with the personality of a cat? Well if you have, I'm your wish come true! I'm a sweet and playful boy but I like to take my time getting to know new people. I need to be sure I'm safe before I rub against you for pets. Once I'm super comfortable, I love to run zoomies, play with toys and even jump into water! I love going on adventures. I have good car manners and I'm getting better with my leash manners. I would be the perfect beach buddy! My ideal home would be with someone who is ready for a sweet, energetic pup and will take the time to help me overcome my shyness. As a scaredy cat, I would do best in quiet but active home. I promise to be your best buddy, once I get to know you.  Thor ID# A938350 Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. Story
Hello there, my name is Lucien! I'm a 1 year old, 40lbs., neutered male Siberian Husky. I'm an energetic, happy boy that just bounces with excitement and enthusiasm. I'm a playful, silly boy that loves to sing and chase everything! I would love to go home with an active family ready for a new adventure. As a jumpy, overly playful boy, I would do best in a home with older, dog savvy kids (10+) while I continue to work on my manners and impulse control. Before going home, I would love to meet all the members of the household as well as any resident dogs.  Lucien ID# A941386  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
