Story
Kita began coming to my doggie daycare a couple of years ago. She fit in perfectly, got along with all the other dogs, and just has this amazing chill personality. Her owners came to me and asked if I knew of anyone that could give her a new home as they were getting divorced and would take her to a shelter if not. When my daycare dogs come into my life, they become a big part of my life so I brought her into my family as a foster. I’m a state coordinator with American Brittany Rescue so it just made sense that she stay with us until her new family is found. She was on the thin side so we put her on our dog’s raw mix and she’s gained a few pounds. She’s a finicky eater when she’s stayed for boarding from time to time. From me personally, Kita is just an all around amazing girl. Loyal, gentle, loving, doesn’t ask for much. Owners state she was good with their cats and kids. Don’t let her adoption fee keep you from applying ❤️

Story
Belle is about 2 years old. I'm not positive exactly what breed she is. I know her mom is a husky but I'm only guessing that her dad was a black lab. She is normally very playful and loves running around with and playing with other dogs. She needs to take a joint supplement everyday for her hips. She loves toys, more than treats and food even. She has never been very food driven and tends to play with her treats before she starts eating them. There used to be a chihuahua in the house who belle loved; they played together all the time. I also had a labradoodle who she sometimes played with.

Story
Courtesy Post for a rescue partner. We are assisting Greener Side Haven with placing Wolfie ! Wolfie is a striking Siberian Husky/Lab(?) mix. He is about 2 years old and weighs 60 lbs, is neutered, partially housebroken, current on vaccinations, dewormed and has a clean heartworm test. He has a short Lab like coat but Husky markings and that traditional tail curl. Wolfie has a big personality and like many young Huskies can be willful & headstrong, but is very smart. He is a very active dog and will try to escape, so a 6’ privacy fenced yard is required to keep this guy safe. We believe Wolfie would do best with someone who has Siberian breed experience. No small children or small dogs please. For more details and to arrange a meet ‘n greet, please call 352-746-3545. If you have questions about the Siberian breed feel free to email us at: foccas@tampabay.rr.com More pics of Wolfie can be found here: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/wolfie-59987955/fl/inverness/foccas-inc-fl1385/

Story
Young, male Siberian Husky seeks new companion with nice yard !! Yet another sweet boy that needs to find a new home due to his owners medical situation. Apollo is just 2.5 yrs old, 50 lbs and is the total package – spunky, friendly, current on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and on Simparica Trio ! He is house and crate trained and responds to basic commands. He loves to go on walks and bike rides and absolutely loves car rides and does great in them. He’s good with kids and dogs of all sizes but will chase after rabbits and other small critters (likely cats too). Apollo would make a great ‘starter Sib’ for someone interested in the breed or an experienced owner looking for a mellow, young Sib to round out their pack. Owner willing to answer all questions from prospective adopters once application is approved. PLEASE NOTE: Apollo is in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area, in person pick-up required. Vet check and a home with securely fenced yard required – NO EXCEPTIONS ! NO cats or small critters. NO calls please, email only. Adoption Donation: $150. Story
Sparky doesn’t emit sparks but he is surely is vivacious! Sparky is an adult male chow-chow mix looking for his retirement home. Sparky may not win any fetch awards but will definitely win over anyone’s heart with his cool, calm and collective ways. Sparky is a very independent dog and doesn’t require a lot of training. Training would probably entail getting him to actually get up off his warm cozy bed to go for an afternoon light stroll. Sparky is quite content relaxing. From time to time, he will show his sparkier side, by playing with a stuffed toy to amuse himself. Since he is on the more mature side, he may be overwhelmed with too many little hands and feet around him including other fur paws, so a home with a retired couple is his cup of decaffeinated tea. So this introverted homebody is seeking another introverted home body. Sparky is available for foster/adoption. He is located in Inverness, FL. Hearts and Paws Rescue is a non profit and all donations go towards saving other animals from kill shelters. Most of which need medical, vaccines, spay/neuter, housing, flea/tick/heartworm meds, etc. By fostering/adopting this pup, you will also help to save another. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog.

Story
Hi, I’m Lola. My favorite color is purple and I am a very sweet girl who loves to play fetch. I also enjoy working part-time as squirrel security. I make sure that squirrels in my yard are up in the trees where they belong. If you have a farm, I will happily herd any small vehicles (a Polaris, for eg.) to make sure they also are routed in the right direction. Don’t worry, though, as soon as I finish patrolling squirrels and herding any small vehicles on your farm, I will come running back. I love my humans and want to be near them as much as possible. I guess you can say I aim to please so commands like “sit, lay down, stay, come, and leave it” are a piece of cake. I’d be happy to learn some new ones if it makes you proud and happy! Why is my mom trying to find a better home for me? Well, she was volunteering at a dog rescue back in Ohio in 2021 and took me home on a trial basis only to discover that one of the 2 male cats living with her was NOT happy about adding a canine sibling to his family. She worked with us by seeking lots of advice from the vet, etc., and, although some progress was made, the household stress continued and I started to develop my own anxieties over the irreconcilable differences.     I thought my cat problems would soon be in the past, however, because my mom’s (adult) daughter became my best friend. We took naps together all the time (something my mom couldn’t do because my alpha cat brother was so territorial about our mom). Anyway, her daughter spoiled me and planned to take me with her when she moved from Ohio to Vermont (my mom was moving to Florida at the same time). Unfortunately, at the very last minute, things unexpectedly did not work out and I found myself in a moving truck to Florida and, despite all efforts, my anxiety over the situation with the cat brother has not improved.   My mom is very sad but also very hopeful that I can find a forever family that will be able to play fetch, go bye-bye (I’ll go anywhere and I wait patiently in the car on cooler days), and take naps with me. I’m told I am the sweetest doggie and I even let the toddler that my mom nannies play with me without any complaints (although if I’m staring at you, it means I’m asking you how long do I have to be polite to this strange human creature). Mom truly wants me to be soooo much happier and less anxious in a home with NO CATS due to the 2 years I have endured with an alpha cat. I’m okay with most dogs as long as they’re not aggressive. I guess I have just gotten used to defending myself with this cat issue.  So, enough about me. tell me about you by applying to adopt me. Mom says she is more than happy to make this transition as easy as possible for me and would be happy to help out with any needs I may have because she loves me so much. I guess what I mean is that it can be an “open adoption” of sorts, if you’d like, although we are both hoping that the right family will help me to live my best most happiest life and that I’ll be satisfied with sending an occasional e-mail to my mom to let her know I’m doing great! After all, isn’t that what every parent wants for their fur baby when it leaves the nest?   ##1735004##

Achilles is truly a gem waiting to brighten someone's life! His sweet disposition, impeccable leash manners, and love for attention make him an irresistible companion. The way he "talks" to the staff, asking for pets, is a heartwarming testament to his affectionate nature. Any home would be fortunate to have such a charming and communicative canine companion like Achilles!
