Story
Lupin~born~January 2014Lupin is a young senior male husky looking for his furever home! Lupin absolutely loves playing outdoors, swimming, and camping. He is a very laid back and friendly husky.Lupin cannot be around cats or other small animals such as birds, rabbits, hamsters, etc.He also does not do well with babies or toddlers, they seem to scare him; however children over 5 years old who are used to having dogs and can be respectful to him will do just fine. He is fully vaccinated and fixed, and is looking for a home where he is the only dog. He does well with other dogs, mainly huskies, but only for a short time until he gets into "alpha-mode". Perhaps with the right training he may do well living with another dog, but it will require some time and training on his new owners' part.Lupin is great with adults, and is fine around older children, and he would do fantastic in a home where he is the only animal.Lupin needs a fenced in yard, and just needs to find a loving home for his golden years. Please consider making Lupin part of your family, he will be forever grateful!_____Special BreedThe adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

Story
Amber~birth~January 2017Amber was left at an abandoned home to live outside when her old owner moved to a place that did not allow dogs. Her current guardians took her in until a forever home can be found for her. This is what they have to say about her:Are you ready to welcome a furry companion into your life? Look no further! Amber, a delightful Husky Mix, is eagerly waiting for her forever family. Amber's Personality and Preferences:- Social Butterfly: Amber thrives on social interactions. She loves meeting new people and enjoys the company of other dogs. However, she dreams of being the star of the show in a single-dog household. Other friends may be oaky as she does fine with her Chihuahua foster brother, but supervision is required.- Attention Seeker: Amber is a diva who craves attention! She'll happily soak up all the love and cuddles you can offer.- Gentle Giant: Standing tall and majestic, Amber is a big girl (about 90 pounds) with a heart to match. While she adores kids, her exuberance might accidentally knock over little humans, so supervision is essential.- Exercise Enthusiast: Amber has boundless energy! Daily walks playtime, and adventures are her jam. If you're an active family, she'll be your perfect companion.- Home Alone Blues: Amber prefers not to be left home alone for extended periods. She thrives on companionship and would love a family that includes her in their daily activities. - Health and Care: Amber is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and licensing. She has not been spayed yet, but this will be done before her adoption through PAAW.Do you have room in your home and heart for this gorgeous girl?_____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org

Story
Meet Heather! This sweet girl needs a new home fast. She is 5 years old, spayed and sweet as can be...great with people and other dogs, loves to be petted and brushed. But she is NOT good with cats at all. Really not good. Because of this, she is not able to live her best life here with me and she deserves the very best. It has gotten to a point where she must be in the crate at all times when she’s inside because of her reaction to my cats. She really is an amazing girl – she has a bit of arthritis in her spine (easily treated with gabapentin) so she is definitely much calmer than your typical husky! She would make someone a wonderful dog if you have a cat-free home. She walks well on a leash, loves to ride in the car, play outside in the snow and is housebroken and crate trained!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Coco Puff is a one year old male Siberian Husky. He is on the smaller side for a husky, at about 45 pounds, and will not get much bigger. He is crate and trained and potty trained. He came all the way from a rural Texas shelter where he was to be euthanized for space. He is the sweetest boy, and very happy to be in Michigan! He is friendly to other dogs, big and small, and children. He should be supervised around young children as he is excitable and may knock them over. We believe with slow introductions that he may do well with cats, as he is friendly to my mean chihuahua. He loves to go for walks, but uses a special harness so he doesn’t pull. He gets the zoomies, loves to cuddle, loves to play, and loves water. He prefers to sleep in the bed and take up all the space! He is still a puppy and learning puppy manners, like not to jump when excited. He knows sit, come, and kennel, and is still learning more! Coco Puff is a good representation of his breed. He is very much a husky, and special care should be taken to prevent escaping. He can open doors, and has chewed through or slipped harnesses and leashes. He should always wear a martingale collar with his identification attached. He should wear a harness on walks, which after should then be removed as he chews on them if left alone. He would benefit from an airplane-approved crate as he tries to open the doors of wire crates with his tongue. He does shed and sometimes likes to talk. However, he is pretty quiet at night in his kennel. Research on the breed or breed experience is recommended prior to adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 17, 2024, 8:17 am
