Combining the charm of a Jack Russell's face with the unique physique of a basset hound, he is truly a sight to behold. His personality is just as distinct, as described by his previous adopter. Luigi adores leisurely walks and snuggling up on the couch with his favorite fluffy stuffed animal. A fan of park adventures, trail hiking, and camping, he also gets along well with other dogs. Story
Est dob: 4/29/2017 Currently 28 lbs Mama Lunaria is ready for her own family after taking great care of her puppies. Lunaria is done nursing her puppies and is ready to move on to the next step in her journey to her forever home   Lunaria is house trained (always expect an adjustment period). She sleeps on the couch or by her foster’s bed at night. She also knows how to use the doggy door. She is pretty young and still has puppy energy too!  She’s good with the other dogs in her Foster’s house, and the children she has met this far. She does need to be fed separate from other dogs in the house. If you’re interested in fostering, please hop on over and fill out an app here: https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-to-fosterWhomever had Lunaira before didn’t take care of her, so she is heartworm positive. But fear not! She is on the slow kill treatment approach that is easier on her. And if adopted, the rescue will cover the cost of the slow kill treatment until she tests negative.     Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at: https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1    $200 adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.April 17, 2024, 6:47 am

Story
Lita and her siblings came from a backyard breeder who didn't want them. A neighbor rescued them to keep him from killing them. Lita is available for either in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. We know that Lita is a wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is just over 1 year of age and she weighs 21 pounds. Lita also has an adorable head tilt. She is sweet, active, and playful. She loves to be cuddled and petted. At first, Lita was terrified of the other dogs, but now she loves to run and play with all of the other dogs. Lita does like to chase cats. Lita is a JRT, she is very smart, and she will jump a 4'-5' fence or gate to go chase a squirrel or cat. She must have a secure 6' fence to prevent escape. We put a training collar on her for about a week and she quickly learned to stay in the yard and to come when called. Lita is crate-trained and will run and get in her crate when it is time to do so. She obviously received no training from the person who previously had her, but she is very smart and learns quickly. Lita may need more work with housetraining and her house manners have gotten much better - she no longer chews on things that she is not supposed to. Lita must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, 6-foot-tall fenced yard to run and play. Lita is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Lita has a $200 in-state adoption fee. Her out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport. She can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Please send an email to 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this little sweet girl. Story
Mojo's wish list includes humans who have a lot of time for him and a large yard. His previous owner's work schedule changed and he had to spent 8-10 hours a day in a crate. He weighs 19 pounds and has tons of energy like most young guys. He likes agility, car rides, fetch, running, tugging, toys, walks, and water and chase and needs someone who can keep up with him. He enjoys leading on a leash. If he runs away while off leash, he'll come back if you call him. He knows the come and no commands but will need your help with house training, He has experience with children as young as three and is easygoing, friendly, and gentle with them. He loves being petted. He has had limited experience with other dogs and might bark or snap at them so if you have a dog we recommend that you bring it to meet him. He's a mischief maker and got into trouble for chewing, barking, jumping, and digging. Please visit this needy, totally lovable youngster and hopefully he'll convince you to take him home. Story
Bandit loves other dogs even though he barks at them and nips at their hind legs. He is friendly, cautious, rough and loves to wrestle with them. He is a very active, mature guy who needs to stay active to get down to a healthy weight. He weighs 24 pounds and likes car rides and running. He leads the way while on a leash and might run away while off leash but will come back if you call him. He knows the sit, come, and no commands. He is house trained and always had free roam of the house. He'll to go the door when he needs to go out. He doesn't like cats and enjoys chasing them. Most cats won't like this. He also chases squirrels. He was given up because of his owner's allergies. He's a mischief maker and got into trouble for barking, begging, jumping on furniture, and racing out the door. He's not a lap dog and doesn't care about being petted. He is excitable and curious. He is afraid of balloons. Please offer lovable Bandit the home and family he needs. (tw 3/31/2024)

**Courtesy Post** Spot is a 6-7 year old little guy. He is very friendly and loving. He’s house trained and great in the house. He’s just as sweet as he can be. We want him to have a securely fenced yard. And, he definitely needs to be an inside dog. Spot requires a home with no cats or kiddos. There is a small rehoming fee. If you are interested you will need to fill out an adoption application. Please contact Spot’s owner at mariejoanna770@gmail.com and they will email you an application.
