Story
Hi! I’m Penelope, my close friends call me P. I’m originally from Alabama but came to Minnesota for a better life. I’m currently living at the Warrior Dog facility but I’d love to find my forever home! Here’s a few things about me: * I have a very sweet and calm personality, but also have a very silly side! * Cuddling and napping are two things I’m really good at.* I’d love if I could find a family that is home a lot or can take me places with them. I don’t like to be alone very much. * I absolutley LOVE being outside! I can bask in the sun for hours. Those are just a few highlights of what life could be like with me. I’d love if you came to meet me so that I can show you what a good girl I am. I hope to see you soon! ***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Penelope is Heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once her treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized. Once her adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Penelope will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Penelope, please fill out an adoption application.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
