Story
Male | 2Y | Mixed Breed | Neutered | UTD on shots | Dog neutral | No cats Not kid tested - likely fine with 12+ | Housebroken | Crate trained | Low energy | Obedience Trained | Takes daily glucosamine This young pup has an old soul! Luciano is a low energy boy who likes to keep to himself mostly. He is happiest in a low traffic home with humans who are happy to both share and give space. He takes a bit of time to warm up to new people - proper introductions and space have been super helpful for Luciano - as well as yummy treats! Once you're in his circle, he'll let you know that he wants pets and attention - otherwise he's happy just existing nearby with some space. Luciano has basic obedience down - and is super smart and food-motivated. He is also fully crate trained (despite not liking it much at the beginning) and his future home should continue using his crate so he always has a safe space when visitors come over and to prevent regressing with separation anxiety. This handsome man is currently living with 2 dogs and co-exists very well, however, cats and smaller pets are off-the-table as his prey drive is quite high. He's not one to play (with toys or his foster siblings), instead he prefers expending his energy by doing some training and going on walks. Speaking of which, this boy walks in a perfect heel! He's currently walking on a prong collar to help when he see pesky critters. Luciano has one back leg that is slightly longer than the other that he takes daily glucosamine for (in the form of treats). It doesn't seem to bother him on the day to day - he's quite happy taking short walks to keep from getting too stiff. Though he may take time to adjust in a new home with new people, Luciano will make an amazing addition to a low traffic home as long as he is provided with ongoing structure and routine, and lots of treats! If you're looking for a smart, loving, low energy pup to add to your family - apply to adopt Luciano today!

Story
Adalynn (Addy) is currently seeking a foster or adoptive family. She is located in the Niagara area. Apply to foster or adopt at rebeldogrescue.com All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Adalynn is a very special girl who has had a challenging start to life. At only 8 months old, she was found as a stray and taken to a kill shelter. Fortunately, Addy was saved from euthansia. She is a scared girl with no known back story before the kill shelter. Whatever her story is, Addy needs to rebuild her confidence. As such, we are looking for a patient adopter. An adopter that can spend time with Addy helping her feel safe. Addy would thrive in a household where structure and guidance are provided for her to be her best self.Addy has been in Board and Train for approximately 3 months and has done very well (more details on that in a moment). Prior to her training program Addy lived in a foster home. In the foster home she had no accidents (with scheduled breaks). In her new home she will need consistency to learn a new schedule and how to signal she needs let out for her breaks. In her foster she slept through the night from about 10-8 without any accidents and minimal movement. Addy enjoys; toys, treats and naps close by her people. Board and Train Update: Addy has built her confidence and learned so much in her board and train program. Her ability to follow food and seek positive reinforcement is helping her walk away from uncomfortable situations (interaction with other dogs). Addy is experiencing much less stress now with this understanding. Addy is e-collar trained and is thriving with this added form of communication the collar offers. We are able to communicate with Addy by sending low level impulses similar to using leash pressure to guide her in the right direction. Addys new owner(s) will be shown exactly how the training works and what it takes to maintain it!Addy has so much potential. She truly has all the qualities to make her an amazing companion, she just needs someone to say we got this and lead the way Name: Adalynn (Addy)Weight: ~58lb with maybe some growing to doAge: ~1 Year Gender: Female Breed: Lab mix Colour: Black/brindle Medical: No concerns Fixed: Yes Good with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids: 16+. Read about our adoption process on our website. Lillith was a last minute save from euthanasia and what a great save she is. Dont overlook this delightful, affectionate, easy going girl because she is a brown stray dog. She was found in a park and brought by animal control to the city shelter. Despite being young, friendly and healthy, they were about to put her down for space when we intervened. Her foster cannot say enough great things about this girl. She is currently baby sitting an orphaned litter of puppies that the foster also has in the home. She sleeps in their room, checks on them and gently licks them. She is kind and happy and would make anyone a great family pet. She is a perfect medium sized dog, jumps in the car to travel, great at the vet- truly a gem!!!She spends her days playing with a German Shepherd doggie foster sibling and chilling on the couch. Lilith is compliant, smart and looking for approval and affection all the time. She is low maintenance and ready to make a family whole. Story
*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Niagara, Ontario on Friday May 03*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Theo is an absolute miracle and medical marvel. As a baby, Theo, his littermates, mom and a male dog were left out in a front yard and abandoned when the family moved. Local rescue folks split the same up into different homes until they could be transported to a rescue in San Antonio. At this time Theo and his mom lived outside in a crate. His mom was able to break open the crate and both escaped. His mom was found but Theo was no where to be seen. His mom and the the litter mates where then transferred to San Antonio. Lo and behold, days later Theo was found and unfortunately was ill. He was immediately transferred to the rescue in San Antonio and was found to have parvo - known as the puppy killing disease. Fortunately he survived the parvo but seemed to have been exposed to distemper during his time at the vet. A month later poor Theo was diagnosed with Distemper, another deadly disease. Through intensive care he recovered and is now thriving! This boy is a true survivor and has an incredibly loving spirit. He is a cuddler and loves to be with his people. He is very well natured and is an easy pup to share your home with. He would do great in a home with kids and another dog to play with. He has been patiently waiting for a family - he is truly a miracle and deserves nothing but the best!Name: TheoWeight: ~35lbAge: ~1.5 years Gender: Male Breed: Lab mix Colour: TanMedical: Survivor of parvo, distemper canine adenovirus type 2 and bordetella bronchiseptica as a puppy. Theo has staining on his teeth as a result of the distemper - it may be enamel hypoplasia, and will be assessed again before coming to Canada. Home care is very important in patients with enamel hypoplasia to keep the teeth clean since the surfaces are irregular and more prone to plaque and tartar accumulation.Fixed: YesGood with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids 0-6: YesGood with kids 6+: YesGood with dogs: Yes, all sizes Good with cats: YesHouse trained: Yes, but goes out regularly Crate trained: YesCrate reactive: NoFood guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Yes, may need some more work Energy level: Medium Requires detached/single home: Possibly Skittish/nervous: can be in new environments but adjusts quickly Separation anxiety: No, but used to being around other dogs Barker: Average
