I am is such a sweet girl, love to cuddle & play! I really miss having a backyard to run off my extra energy! I really love cats! I even had a cat roommate! He lived with us when he was 6 weeks to 2 years. I made sure to play gentle since he was a lot smaller than me! I love playing with kiddos. I like to jump and run, so probably older kids are best (5 and up) I don’t like to share my toys or my food with other doggies, so it’s probably best if I’m the only dog in the home. I’ve never been aggressive, I just like having all the attention.

Tails is a 2 year old retriever mix we adopted when she was a few months old. She is a very sweet girl, loves to play fetch and chase the laser pointer around. She has basic training knows sit, stay, shake/paw, come, treat, kennel, and knows her name. She is kennel trained and loves her crate! She also loves to run and play outside. She plays well with other dogs, but I will say she is food aggressive and we usually feed her in her crate away from my other dogs. She needs a new home because her and my other female mixed breed dog both think they are dominant and we are having behavioral issues between them. That being said she is good with other dogs she has never gotten in a fight at the dog kennel and loves to play with the dogs there, but there is some kind of aggression with my other female dog in the home. She loves to cuddle and sleep with people, but I think with her behavioral issues she will require an experienced owner. Would hate to have to return her to the shelter :(

Hi, my name is Maggie, and I'm 4 years old and weigh 55 lbs. It's difficult to tell in my photos, but I have a beautiful, shiny black coat with auburn highlights. I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know and trust someone, I will be the most loyal and loving dog ever. I have wonderful house manners, so my foster family leaves me with run of the house when they leave. I love toys, in fact I'm a little addicted to them! I don't chew or destroy them, I just love to carry them around, kind of like a security blanket. I love to take walks, and I have great leash manners, although I do like to stop and smell a few things along the way. So many interesting smells out there! He has a gorgeous shiny coat and soft expressive eyes. Murdock is two years old and he weighs about 50 lbs. Foster dad says that Murdock is by far the smartest dog he has ever had, and he is energetic and adventurous! He is just the opposite of a couch potato and needs an adopter who will be active with him. Murdock's favorite things include going on hikes, walks around the neighborhood, chasing leaves and meeting new people. Brady is a 3 year old, 78 lb Black Lab/Border Collie mix, but his breed is just our best guess. He definitely has the "lab bump" on top of his head. He is so handsome with his shiny back coat! Brady (aka Charlie) is housetrained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. He's a big, strong boy, so If he sees a rabbit or a squirrel, hold on tight! Walking him in a harness will help with those situations. Brady is good with other dogs, big and small, and he is even good with a cat that visits from time to time. He hasn't been around many kids, so we are recommending kids that are over 10 years old and have experience with large dogs. Brady is affectionate with people he knows, and will give them plenty of kisses. He is past the puppy stage but still playful and still likes his toys of all kinds. He likes to chase a ball, but just for a short time. He likes to play and run with other dogs he meets at the dog park. Brady is a smart boy and knows Sit, Stay, Lie Down, and Shake. I acquired Loki because he was abandoned when he was a puppy. He has mostly lived in apartments and when we finally moved into a house, he still preferred to be indoors. He has never chewed items out of boredom. We only have to put food away as he is very food driven when it comes to training. He doesn't care for balls, but he loves ropes, squeaky toys or bones. He needs to go to a home with older kids as he has been very nervous around smaller kids since my son was born. Loki does not like his nails trimmed so to counter that, we get about 4 miles of exercise. He can still be very relaxed and lazy without the exercise. I just need his nails trimmed so we go outside.

Louie gets along well with other dogs, and enjoys having both people and dogs for company. He is a big boy, and a baby at heart. His favorite things are squeaky toys, his football, treats, the water, and buddies. Louie wants to be near the action, and does not want to miss anything. CIERRA If you ask Cierra, she is a princess looking for her crown! Cierra is a beautiful pure bred Labrador, about 2 years old. She absolutely loves to be with people and will snuggle up for attention if you let her. Cierra is about 67 pounds, so she is a great, smaller sized Labrador. Cierra has a lot of bounce when you first meet her, but she settles down pretty quickly. She is well house trained, likes her big crate and walks nicely on the leash. She is very smart and catches on quickly. Cierra came to Lone Star a few months ago. We don't know much about Cierra's background, but she was a nervous girl when she first arrived. She is taking some medication that we are sure can be stopped, once she is settled in with her new family. Cierra did not have much training prior to coming to Lone Star. Her foster mom & dad have been working with her to teach good manners, crate training and house breaking. She does not play nicely with other dogs, so we are looking for a home where she can be the center of attention with no other dogs. A home with a 6 foot privacy fence is required for the Princess Cierra. Cierra would probably be a good companion to kids over the age of at least 8 or 10 years old. She is probably too strong and bouncy for little ones. Cierra is a very healthy girl with bright eyes and a shiny, chocolate coat. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, on heartworm prevention and microchipped. Lola is such a SWEET dog! We have been fostering this dog for a family member who moved away but we can’t keep her because of travel schedules. Lola is a beautiful dog with pretty eyes. She is lovable and silly. She sleeps all night long in her doggy bed. She only barks when she hears or sees another dog walking by the front of the house and not for very long. She is great to walk with. She has times during the day when she is ready to play, but the rest of the time she is calm and sleeps. It is a heartbreaking decision, that we must rehome Mable. We are moving out of state, and we are not able to accommodate bringing pets. Mable is a very sweet, gentle girl. She can be quite shy at first, but she loves being outdoors, especially in cold weather. She absolutely LOVES snow! She has a very chill, go with the flow personality, and loves to take naps, as well as running and playing fetch. We adopted Mable at about 4 months old from a local shelter in 2018.
