Story
Hello I am Brodie and I was born approximately 3/12/2019, I also weigh around 12 lbs, I am a Maltese. I came from a shelter, and I am very protective of my toys, because I never had any before this so I don't love to share. I'm house trained, my foster mom takes me outside every 4 hrs. I have a kennel but would rather sleep on the bed with my foster mom all night. I don't care for dogs bigger than me because they are scary and I also don't really love cats - I growl and bark at them. I will sit and watch you when you are eating, hoping that I will get a snack. I like to curl up on the floor next to my foster mom. Will let you know when someone knocks at the door or walks by, by barking a bit. I'm leash trained. I get along with my foster brother.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 1:01 pm

Story
Meet Casper, a charming 6-pound Maltese mix who has overcome a challenging past and is now eagerly searching for a loving family that can provide him with the care and patience he deserves. Casper adores playful moments, whether it's engaging in a lively game of chase or indulging in a spirited game of peek-a-boo from behind the bushes with his furry companions in the yard. After some delightful playtime, he'll approach you with those irresistible puppy eyes, politely asking for a treat before snuggling up with his favorite plush toy for a cozy nap by your side. For his safety, Casper will thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, as his adventurous spirit might lead him to explore open spaces. This little guy truly thrives when he has canine companionship, so having another dog in the home will help him build confidence and trust in his new environment. Casper's calm demeanor makes him an excellent match even for black cats or cats of any variety. To ensure his comfort and security, it's best if any kids in the household are of high school age or older. Casper is a sweet and cautious pup with a resilient spirit, ready to flourish in a tranquil home filled with patience as he learns to trust, plenty of love, and a structured routine. If you're ready to invite Casper into your home, whether it's haunted or not, don't hesitate to apply to meet him. Your heart and home will be all the brighter with him by your side! ##1749725##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to SLP Nutrition (6538 W Lake St, St Louis Park, MN 55426) for an Adoption Event on Saturday, March 30th from 12:00-2:00 pm . Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. I’m sure you’ve heard about small dogs being big barkers. Well, I’m here to tell you it’s not factual. You see, I only do so when I’m alarmed or if I’m crated for an extended period of time.  I’m a shy lady but also a very happy one. I’ll wag my tail and lick your hand to let you know how excited I am to see you. I entertain myself with small toys that make noise and treats. I do need a fenced yard because I have zero experience using a leash. Maybe once I settle in, we can work on this together but for now, please have a fenced in yard for me. This will also help with my potty training. While I will use potty pads, we are working on a routine for going potty outside.  There are other dogs here and would benefit from having other dogs in my forever home. Another confident dog will help me learn to trust people and get on a routine. But don't require another dog if you are home a lot.  I hope you think we’d be a good fit because I’m just the sweetest and am very good-natured. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, my name is Calvin and I spent my early years not in any sort of inside, family-style living so this is all new to me.  So forgive me if I am a little skittish or nervous occasionally.  Especially when we first meet.  I do the same thing when outside of the environment I’ve grown accustomed to but I’m working on that and would do best with a home that will be patient and understanding.  I admit, I’ve growled at people when my stress level is over the top for me but I haven’t ever snapped or bitten anyone. But for now, maybe a home without small kids would be better as commotion, loud noises and men seem to make me more tense. I don’t have too much desire to play right now as I’m still trying to get accustomed to life in a loving environment.  I’m low key but I ventured out a bit this week and actually played with a toy!  Hold your applause! I don’t really have a fur bestie so I can be an only pet if you’re home most of the day.  Why, you ask?? Well, I tend to have lots of conversation with people and like to voice my complaints to the peanut gallery often (bark bark).  I am crate trained but that darn potty thing is a bit trickier.  However, when you keep me on a good schedule, I feel I’m close to making it happen! I don’t require a fenced yard either, as I’m working on my leash skills.  Granted, it’s got more work to be had but we can do it!  I have put my noodles together and with lots of practice, I know “sit, come, kennel, outside and go potty!” I’m food motivated which is why my noodles are functional. Don’t think you’ve missing what you want to know.  I wanted to wait to tell you but this kid right here loves to cuddle!  I’m super sweet (with a bit of sauce).  Once I know you’re one of the good ones, I am always happy to see you know will run right up to you looking for pets and loving!  So, what are you waiting for?!  Let’s get this loving on the road!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hey there, I'm Soda, your potential new furry friend! Let me give you the scoop on what makes me tick. When I'm at home, I'm a bundle of joy! Outgoing and happy, I love nothing more than snuggling up next to my favorite people and soaking in all the love and attention. Oh, and did I mention I'm a big fan of cuddles? Yep, they're pretty much my favorite thing ever! I'm also quite the social butterfly when it comes to playing with the other dogs in my foster home. We have a blast playing together and chasing each other around the house. Now, when it comes to treats, I have a soft spot for the soft ones. They're just so yummy! And while I'm not the biggest toy enthusiast, I'll occasionally indulge in a playful session with my toys. But I have a little secret – when I'm away from home, I can be a tad shy. It takes me a little while to warm up to new people and environments, but once I do, I'm just as friendly and outgoing as ever! As for my potty training, I'm working hard! With a consistent schedule and some patience, I'm sure to catch on. And when it comes to bedtime, I prefer to cozy up in my kennel, especially if there's another furry friend to snuggle with. But hey, I'm open to the idea of sharing the bed with my favorite human too! Now, let's talk about my barking habits. I'll admit, I'm not afraid to voice my opinion, especially if I'm not too keen on being in my kennel or if there's someone at the door. But don't worry, I'm working on it! It would be best if I didn’t have shared walls. In a nutshell, I'm just a sweet, cuddly girl looking for a loving home where I can be showered with affection. If you're someone who enjoys holding and cuddling as much as I do, then I think we'll be the perfect match! Excitedly wagging my tail, Soda *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans.
