Story
Bessie is a pretty and sweet young pup. She is a 1 1/2 year-old, 17 pound, white, Poodle/Terrier mix. She came to AFC with her mother MoAna and a sister. Bessie came with two, one week old puppies who are now old enough to be adopted. The family had to many dogs to care for. She is potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door. She loves to explore outside and like most young dogs can get into a little mischief, if not watched by her humans. She loves to run around and get her energy out then come cuddle on her foster mom's lap. She is very sweet and gives kisses.. She will require regular brushing at home with an occasional trip to the groomer. She is scheduled to be spayed but we are looking for her home now. She is microchipped and current on her vaccinations. Are you ready for a new love? Bessie is waiting to fill your heart and home with love. Story
Curly was found at a park in Manteca. He appears to be a young guy, about a year or so. He weighs 13 pounds. We aren't sure of his background, so he may need to learn his house manners still. It appears that someone gave him a home haircut, so he is a little uneven, but he is not matted. He will need regular grooming to keep his coat nice. We have to keep him on a stray hold until 3/22, but are accepting applications for him now in the event he is not claimed. We have given shots and he will be neutered and microchipped before leaving the shelter. He seems to be a great little dog who will be a loving pet. $300.00 adoption. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Cody and Molly are a sweet bonded pair who came to us after their mom passed away. They are kind, considerate and gentle little lambs. Cody is 28 lbs (needs to lose some weight!) and Molly is 13 lbs. Cody is 17 years young and Molly is 18 years young. They've been indoor dogs for a long time with little to no outdoor time and they're happy to enjoy the great outdoors, especially when it's sunny! These two really are the sweetest pair of buddies they look forward to spending forever and ever together. Cody came to us with bladder stones, had surgery and is now on a special diet to help prevent this from occurring again. Molly and Cody are a very sweet pair who don't ask for much, just a loving, warm and cozy home where they get to enjoy indoor and outdoor sunshine time together.

Story
Joey is looking for a new home, we are saddened to share his owner is terminally ill.  This 7-year-old miniature poodle was born with a deformed right paw and missing some leg foot bones giving him a short right leg, but he runs, jumps and is athletic. He had a mild left hip injury in 2018 that caused a slight limp and can get uncomfortable at times. He is very smart and responds to conversations. He has a mild temperament and will do best in a quiet home with no small children and preferably the only dog. He is not much of a lap dog, but he does love going for walk and he travels really well in the car. ##2007111##

Story
**Coco is a mixed-breed dog and we cannot guarantee he is allergy-friendly.**   Coco is the sweetest boy you will ever meet!   Coco is a 5-year-old love muffin who is happiest when he has a lap to cuddle on. He is an affectionate pup who makes instant friends with everyone he meets. He is quick to charm you with his endearing personality and irresistible big brown eyes. Coco is fully grown and weighs about 9lbs. Coco came to us from the Yolo County Animal Shelter after he was found as a stray in rural Woodland. He was found with another dog, Puff, who is also available for adoption with the YCSPCA. Both dogs were found severely matted, Coco even worse than Puff, and they felt better after a much-needed haircut. Coco very much wants to be someone's go-everywhere companion and is happiest when he can be by your side. He loves to cuddle at home, but also loves his daily walks around the neighborhood and would be a great companion for someone wanting a little walking buddy. He is a well-mannered pup who seems to have some basic training under his belt. Coco was found with another dog, but is in a separate foster home than her and seems to love the only dog life. He also might do well with another easy-going small dog. We have not seen Coco around cats, but he might do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Coco seems like he could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids over 5 years old. Coco has been doing very well with his house training and sleeps through the night in his crate. He isn't the biggest fan of being home alone and would do best with a family that doesn't have to leave him alone often or for long. He would be a great companion for retired folks. Coco isn't an ideal fit to live in an apartment due to his separation anxiety. Due to his fur type, Coco requires routine grooming and his new family should be prepared to pay for regular grooming services or be knowledgeable enough to do it themselves. Coco is such a fabulous little boy, and we know his fur-ever family is out there. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Coco's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. April 22, 2024, 10:47 pm
