Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Molly (TX) is a female Poodle rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Molly is 16 years old at the time of intake in March 2024.  Molly is good with people and other dogs.  When Molly's owner got sick, she was left with her sister to fend for themselves and scrape by each day. RDR was notified and came to take her and her sister. She received a spa day and is now feeling like her old self.  She is sweet and looking for a safe place to call home.Molly's foster parents report she is loyal, sweet. and loving. She is ready to start her new life and doesn't let her past define her. She has trouble seeing with one eye but that doesn't stop her. She learns the layout around her very quickly and navigates around safely. She has some difficulties saying hello to other pups and kids because it is hard to see. She loves seeking comfort in your lap and being reassured she is safe. Despite her age, she still loves her stuffy toys and listens so well. She even knows sit.  If you would like to give sweet Molly a forever home, please apply online to adopt Molly (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.    RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Story
Meet QQ🧡 QQ was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where she lived in a cramped cage with accumulated waste and fur beneath, making standing painful and emitting strong ammonia fumes. She is now adapting to everyday life and is expected to become healthier and happier soon! ** Health Status - Scaling done, two teeth extracted - Originally had poor skin condition leading to severe grooming and medicated baths; currently much improved and non-contagious. - Due to periodontitis, her gums have receded, causing instability in her teeth. This prevents her from eating hard food, and she requires soft kibble and snacks. - Has an eye injury but no vision impairment. * Interaction with People: Loves people but initially fears strangers, especially men. Takes time to warm up, but once comfortable, she follows around, wags her tail, and likes to be by your side. * Interaction with Dogs: Shows little interest in other dogs and prefers spending time alone. * Interaction with Cats: Indifferent; passes by without much notice. * Separation Anxiety: Minimal; manages well alone and spends most of the time sleeping when the family is out. * Potty Training: She prefers indoor potty training and is proficient with using pads. She occasionally confuses blankets with her potty spot but is improving. She also does well with outdoor potty training during walks. * Hygiene: She cooperates well during baths. Nail trimming can be frightening and cause some fuss, but she stays calm. She is also good with brushing and drying. * Walking: Ignores other animals, walks without pulling, and matches the walker's pace. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without any signs of motion sickness. * Very gentle with no biting, even when touched or petted by strangers. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @p.ssshhj

Story
Meet Ttori🖤 Ttori was abandoned at a waste dump in South Korea. Adogs could not leave Ttori in such a dreadful area full with rubbish and the bodies of his pals who passed away. He was rescued shortly after. * Toward People: Loves people and approaches strangers without hesitation. Freezes at the sight of adult men, but becomes affectionate once he gets used to them. * Toward Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs! Is a very sociable dog who approaches first and greets new dogs at the Center, and welcomes new dogs who approach him without hesitation. * Separation Anxiety: He barks because he’s not used to being alone. Is being trained! * Potty Training: Can use pads well, but only uses them after holding it for a while. Is excellent at outdoor potty! * Grooming: Jerks his body a little when taking baths or trimming nails because he’s not used to it, but does get through it. Is scared of the sound of blow dryers. * Walks: Doesn’t necessarily pull on the leash, but has a lot of energy and curiosity. Walks well if call his name and stop for a moment. * Car sickness: Has no experience in going for long car trips. ** Health Status: Finished treatment for heartworm infection. Needs to be retested on Mar 2025 💙 Foster's Intagram: @adogs_ttori

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DAISY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Daisy is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of June 2024 and on 20th September weighed 20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DAISY is available for an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
"No Dogs Left Behind operates boots on the ground in Asia, fighting on the front lines to rescue dogs from the illegal dog-meat trade. No Dogs Left Behind works hands-on with local activists through emergency response, pulling dogs directly from slaughterhouses, dog meat trucks, wet markets and traffickers. Our mission extends beyond borders worldwide, advocating for the creation and enforcement of animal welfare laws, and raising awareness for a cruelty-free, sustainable world in which no animal is violated, exploited, tortured or slaughtered for commercial goods or profit. PLEASE NOTE: All of our dogs ARE CURRENTLY LOCATED AT ONE OF OUR TWO SANTUARIES IN CHINA UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED ON THEIR PROFILE. If you are seeing this post, the dog you are interested in IS CURRENTLY AVAIALBLE FOR ADOPTION. Canadian Adoptions - For dogs going to Canada, we expect the wait for flights to be approximately 2 to 4 months AFTER the adoption is complete. PLEASE KNOW, however, that we can make no guarantee about flight dates because we are at the whim of the commercial airlines and airports. Available cargo space for animals on commercial airlines has been limited in recent months. United States Adoptions - In July of 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) implemented a "temporary suspension on the importation of dogs from 113 countries, including China. Therefore, we are in the process of moving all our survivors from China to Canada to clear our two sanctuaries in East Asia which will give us the ability to save more dogs from slaughter. As per CDC regulations, dogs imported from China can enter the United States only AFTER staying in Canada for a period of 6 months. While we are accepting adoption applications from the United States, please be aware that there is a 6-month wait time. Should the CDC lift the import ban at any point prior to the 6-month period, we will advise you. Once you have adopted a survivor and a flight has been secured to Canada, we will arrange for your dog to stay in a loving foster home in the Toronto area that we have secured on your behalf or in our sanctuary located in Scarborough, Ontario. After the required 6-month stay in Canada, American adopters can arrange to pick up their survivors in Canada. IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT: The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application. EVERYONE MUST complete an application. You can complete an application on our website, https://nodogsleftbehind.com/adopt/ ADOPTION FEE: Current Adoption Fees: $2,290 USD for SMALL dogs under 50 pounds $2,990 USD for LARGE dogs over 50 pounds $1500 USD for SPONSORED dogs who have had a portion of their flight paid by a generous donor (noted with a white airplane symbol in their photo on our Foster or Adopt section of our website). Please NOTE, the adoption fee MAY change after adopting your survivor. If, at the time of transport, the transportation costs have increased, adopters will be required to pay the additional expenses. Due to COVID-19, regulations, airline availability, cost and logistics are ever-changing. The cost of adopting a survivor is constantly changing and therefore the adoption fees are subject to change. Adopters do not cover the costs of the dogs' medical care or the food and care they receive while they remain in our sanctuaries. The Pay-it-Forward Fee that is paid at the time of adoption covers the current cost of flying the dogs out of China. All our dogs are sterilized, microchipped, and have received all current vaccines as required to be imported as per airline and government regulations. CHILDREN, CATS AND OTHER PETS: Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if any of our dogs are friendly with cats or young children. Although our dogs are friendly with most other dogs, we don't have the ability to test our dogs in our sanctuaries in China and cannot make any guarantees as to their temperament or compatibility with other animals, children, or cats. REQUESTS FOR HYPO-ALLERGENIC DOGS: We do not guarantee, agree, hint at, or suggest that any of our dogs are hypo allergenic. All our dogs are rescued from the dog meat trade in East Asia and therefore, we do not know their history or breed mixes. TEMPERAMENT: As our dogs are rescued from the dog trafficking trade in East Asia, we do not have history of their past. We cannot guarantee their temperament when they arrive in a home setting. HOUSE AND POTTY TRAINING: As we do not know the history of our rescued dogs, we should assume that they will need to be house trained. Some dogs may have been stolen pets and have previously been in a home environment in China while others may have been stray dogs or specifically bred for consumption. We advise every new adopter to treat these dogs as if they are puppies and be patient in regaining their trust with humans and providing basic training. We will also disclose any dog with more serious needs as our main goal is to get each dog the very best home for them. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: lindsay@nodogsleftbehind.com "

Story
Timothy (born 3/18/2024) is a Cockapoo puppy. We checked his DNA and he is 81.2% Cocker Spaniel and 18.8% Poodle. This sweet, good-natured, little fellow will need daily brushing and regular grooming, but most of all he needs a home with the time to raise and train a puppy that needs to be housebroken. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here.
