Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Molly (TX) is a female Poodle rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Molly is 16 years old at the time of intake in March 2024.  Molly is good with people and other dogs.  When Molly's owner got sick, she was left with her sister to fend for themselves and scrape by each day. RDR was notified and came to take her and her sister. She received a spa day and is now feeling like her old self.  She is sweet and looking for a safe place to call home.Molly's foster parents report she is loyal, sweet. and loving. She is ready to start her new life and doesn't let her past define her. She has trouble seeing with one eye but that doesn't stop her. She learns the layout around her very quickly and navigates around safely. She has some difficulties saying hello to other pups and kids because it is hard to see. She loves seeking comfort in your lap and being reassured she is safe. Despite her age, she still loves her stuffy toys and listens so well. She even knows sit. Molly's foster mommy reports she would do good as a single dog, she is a pint sized senior.Don't let her age fool you - she is the perfect combo of chill and fun energy. She sleeps in her humans bed mostly but will sleep on her own bed. Due to her blindness this lady doesn't do well in a crate. She does love kids of all ages. She is one smart cookie when it comes to commands -she learns fast.  She is perfect leash walking/ yards/ and fully potty trained. This free spirit chill zen lady just loves life !If you would like to give sweet Molly a forever home, please apply online to adopt Molly (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 9, 2025, 1:56 am

If you are seeing this post, the dog you are interested in IS CURRENTLY AVAIALBLE FOR ADOPTION. Canadian Adoptions - For dogs going to Canada, we expect the wait for flights to be approximately 2 to 4 months AFTER the adoption is complete. PLEASE KNOW, however, that we can make no guarantee about flight dates because we are at the whim of the commercial airlines and airports. Available cargo space for animals on commercial airlines has been limited in recent months. United States Adoptions - In July of 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) implemented a "temporary suspension on the importation of dogs from 113 countries, including China. Therefore, we are in the process of moving all our survivors from China to Canada to clear our two sanctuaries in East Asia which will give us the ability to save more dogs from slaughter. As per CDC regulations, dogs imported from China can enter the United States only AFTER staying in Canada for a period of 6 months. While we are accepting adoption applications from the United States, please be aware that there is a 6-month wait time. Should the CDC lift the import ban at any point prior to the 6-month period, we will advise you. Once you have adopted a survivor and a flight has been secured to Canada, we will arrange for your dog to stay in a loving foster home in the Toronto area that we have secured on your behalf or in our sanctuary located in Scarborough, Ontario. After the required 6-month stay in Canada, American adopters can arrange to pick up their survivors in Canada. IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT: The first step in our adoption process is to complete an application. EVERYONE MUST complete an application. You can complete an application on our website, https://nodogsleftbehind.com/adopt/ ADOPTION FEE: Current Adoption Fees: $2,290 USD for SMALL dogs under 50 pounds $2,990 USD for LARGE dogs over 50 pounds $1500 USD for SPONSORED dogs who have had a portion of their flight paid by a generous donor (noted with a white airplane symbol in their photo on our Foster or Adopt section of our website). Please NOTE, the adoption fee MAY change after adopting your survivor. If, at the time of transport, the transportation costs have increased, adopters will be required to pay the additional expenses. Due to COVID-19, regulations, airline availability, cost and logistics are ever-changing. The cost of adopting a survivor is constantly changing and therefore the adoption fees are subject to change. Adopters do not cover the costs of the dogs' medical care or the food and care they receive while they remain in our sanctuaries. The Pay-it-Forward Fee that is paid at the time of adoption covers the current cost of flying the dogs out of China. All our dogs are sterilized, microchipped, and have received all current vaccines as required to be imported as per airline and government regulations. CHILDREN, CATS AND OTHER PETS: Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if any of our dogs are friendly with cats or young children. Although our dogs are friendly with most other dogs, we don't have the ability to test our dogs in our sanctuaries in China and cannot make any guarantees as to their temperament or compatibility with other animals, children, or cats. REQUESTS FOR HYPO-ALLERGENIC DOGS: We do not guarantee, agree, hint at, or suggest that any of our dogs are hypo allergenic. All our dogs are rescued from the dog meat trade in East Asia and therefore, we do not know their history or breed mixes. TEMPERAMENT: As our dogs are rescued from the dog trafficking trade in East Asia, we do not have history of their past. We cannot guarantee their temperament when they arrive in a home setting. HOUSE AND POTTY TRAINING: As we do not know the history of our rescued dogs, we should assume that they will need to be house trained. Some dogs may have been stolen pets and have previously been in a home environment in China while others may have been stray dogs or specifically bred for consumption. We advise every new adopter to treat these dogs as if they are puppies and be patient in regaining their trust with humans and providing basic training. Story
Trixie - 12 years young, 8lbs, Poodle/Maltese Mix, Spayed - BLIND Trixie is Blind!!  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Our Team Says: Trixie is the kind of dog that makes your heart ache — with joy, with curiosity, with empathy. This 12-year-old maltese mix is mostly blind and was shaved to the skin when we took her in because she’d been matted gnarly when she ended up at the city shelter. But as soon as she got to our office, her naked little body wandered around while her nose led a gentle search for treats. When we handed her one, she cheerfully chomped it up and waved her wee snoot around in search of more. She transitioned into her foster home seamlessly, where she’s been since the first week of February. It didn’t take long for her to start feeling comfy and getting used to life as a cherished companion, and her fur is growing out now. She’ll need a family ready for senior medical care and to help a blind dog around — watch for things she might bump into or stumble off of. She’ll also need some grass, real or fake — in case you can’t tell from this reel, she’s clearly got a favorite activity. She’s happy with a quiet lifestyle and lots of love and will do best in a low key neighborhood or the suburbs. Her smitten foster dad says she’s a couch potato and: “Trixie is not a big cuddler, she’s very independent and is not huge on snuggles unless you place her next to you. She’s potty trained to a degree. She has to be taken out every 2-3 hours or she will pee on the floor, simply because she doesn’t know exactly where she is! If you take her out consistently, there are no issues though. She’s not afraid of strangers, she is extremely comfy with large groups and being the star of the show. She’s extremely gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy. I haven’t seen her interact with too many dogs, but the groomer mentioned she got along great with the other dogs there. She’s not afraid in the city but has a hard time on walks and would do better with a big patio or a yard. She is very low maintenance, no separation anxiety.” Level of dog ownership experience needed:FLEXIBLE: We predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale with regard to exercise and mental stimulation requirements, but seniors tend to need a lot of help and understanding when it comes to lifestyle and veterinary issues. Seniors usually need quiet, calm environments and routines and do not do well with a lot of bustle, change, and rambunctious movement (kids and young playful dogs, for instance). This dog’s adopter will need to be prepared for senior health challenges, which usually come with expensive veterinary bills and time in vet offices. Senior care can also take an emotional toll on their humans. Adopting a mature pup is a wonderful thing to do, but it can also be difficult.  Energy levelLOWER: Pretty chill indoors and won’t demand endless amounts of stimulation and exercise but still needs a few short walks a day (10-30 min each) for potty breaks and to stretch their legs Cuddle Bug LevelLow, very independent and is not huge on snuggles unless you place hernext to you. Potty Trained: Yes, to a degree. She has to be taken out every 2-3hours or she will pee on the floor, simply because she doesn’t knowexactly where she is! If you take her out consistently, there are noissues though! Comfy with strangers:Yes, she is extremely comfy with large groups and being the star of the show. Comfy For childrenYes, extremely gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy. She is GREAT for kids. Social with other dogs?Mostly– haven’t had too much experience but the groomers mentioned shegot along great with the other dogs. Leash Manners:Old pro. Respectful of other animals?Yes! Doesn’t really concern herself with other animals. Mouthy behavior:None whatsoever based on description Okay in the city?I think it's better in an apartment with a big balcony for her toroam, or in suburbs. Hard for her to take walks in general, but she isOK in the city! Jumping on people to say hi?Low, always 4 on the floor. Separation Anxiety:She is great and very low maintenance. No separation anxiety. Crate trained?Yes, totally fine in the crate. Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. Adopters will need to be ready for senior care – at a minimum, that will be annual checkups including senior bloodwork and a dental post adoption (most senior rescues need one). How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. We will also disclose any dog with more serious needs as our main goal is to get each dog the very best home for them. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: lindsay@nodogsleftbehind.com "

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to JFK&EWR💟 Meet Sunnam💗 Sunnam was living in the Gimje City Shelter, and acted cute approaching the people he met for the first time. A volunteer who was watching him closely used the rescue right for him . * With People: Likes people so much that he approaches even strangers first, but there is no significant reaction. Is so affectionate that he approaches familiar people first, wagging his tail and exposes his belly. * With Dogs: Has quite interest in new dogs, but doesn’t show much interest. * With Cats: There is little interest when the cat is far off, but sudden appearances startle him. * Separation Anxiety: Stays alone well and even with strangers very well. * Potty Training: Does 100% outdoor pottying. Doesn’t mark indoors but tends to mark outside. * Hygiene: Doesn't like bathing but tends to calmly tolerate it. Is not a big fan of drying or brushing but accepts it comfortably. * Walks: Pulls on the leash but is improving by training. * Car Sickness: Not confirmed as he hasn’t experienced riding yet. * Nibbling: Doesn't nibble at all. * Barking: Never barks ㅡ nobody has ever heard him bark. * Dislike: Sometimes flinches when a hand is raised near him. While we can’t know for sure, it seems he may have had a negative experience related to people raising their hands. Gets scared of people dragging umbrellas and is often startled by loud noises like big buses or cars during walks. ❗Health Condition❗ * Neutered: Yes. * Others: Microchipped, heartworm to be retested in December 2025, Anaplasmosis and Lyme disease to be retested in July 2025 and scaling done. ✅️Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to JFK&EWR💟 Meet Aki💗 💙 Aki's Update Account: @aki.noa.sushi 1⃣ Health Condition * Spayed. * Microchipped. * Needs liver supplements and care as her liver is not in good condition. * Has skin problems and is taking medicated baths every three to five days. * Has bronchial stenosis and may cough when drinking water. * Had teeth extracted and cannot eat hard food, so extra care is needed. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Aki was rescued from a breeding farm along with #AdogsAji and #AdogsNoah during Adogs’ early days. She was adopted, but in September 2024, she was sadly returned to the center after her adopter suddenly passed away. Aki is now looking for a new family to help her overcome this loss and enjoy a happy new chapter in life. 3⃣ Basic Information * With People: Adores people so much. Warms up quickly even to strangers, showing her affectionate nature. Likes to be cuddled by familiar people and wags her tail, asking to be petted. * With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs! Shows interest and positive reactions towards dogs she meets for the first time. * Separation Anxiety: Spends time well and sleeps when alone. Also waits without any issue when she is left with a doggy friend or human being. * Potty Training: Is so smart that she uses pads very well. Prefers to go outdoor for poop. * Hygiene: Calmly accepts bathing, drying, and brushing. * Walks: Walks very well without pulling on the leash. Has occasionally interest in other animals and wants to approach them. 4️⃣ Special Notes * Barks at first when a stranger enters the room, but subsides soon. * Is well trained to come when called.
