You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ira is a gentle and sweet boy; he would love a home of his own where he would be treated like the prince he is.  He came to CARE in horrible condition and quickly learned to love the good life.  He is a blind and mostly deaf senior boy, estimating his age between 9 and 11.  He has a lot of life left to enjoy.  While he does sleep a lot, when he is awake, he is busy.  He will need a family that is home more than they are not.  He enjoys extra-long walks and time outside.  Ira requires frequent professional grooming every 6–8 weeks.  Due to Ira’s blindness, he cannot be left unsupervised outside (EVER!).   He is super smart and will quickly learn his way around his new home. The key is not to move his things, ever.  He will need a family that is able to carry him inside and out when he needs to go.  He will weigh around 20 pounds when he is fully healthy.  Due to Ira’s small size all children in the home must be at least 8 years old.  Ira will be placed in a home within 60 miles of Pittsboro.  Ira has been neutered and microchipped and is up to date on all vaccines.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 11:08 am

He clearly never had proper, or any, human interaction, as he is painfully nervous around people. He is both approach and touch averse, but is very, very, verrrry slowly learning that humans aren’t so terrible. He may always have these hesitations and might always be a dog who wants verry little to do with we humans. He is not a dog who will be up for walks or hikes or public adventures and will need an extremely special, patient adopter who will take things at HIS pace. Any candidates need the full understanding that he is considered a flight risk, so extra diligence will be needed to ensure Fozzy Fosbourne does not ever get loose; a fully fenced/secure backyard is required. Despite all of this, Fozzy Fosbourne is sweet on the occasion he allows you to physically interact with him. He’s still undecided on the whole concept of snuggle fests, but hopefully will come around with time. Dogs, however, are his JAM! Fozzy Fosbourne loves to play bow, rip and romp with his canine companions. Still to be determined whether he is unsure of cats or is just plain scared of them; like with humans, Fozzy Fosbourne freezes in any feline encounters. Another dog, or dogs, is required in his forever home. Hello! Looking for a good home for my Eli. He’s is very very sweet and loving and just wants someone to stare into his eyes all day! lol he is one years old(birthday feb 25) He was the runt of the litter and I just couldn’t leave him there to die as no one wanted him and the breeders were confident that he will pass on. Needless to say he is well and healthy and by passed the scary part as I nurtured him like a BABY!! we moved and the pet regiments are beyond my affordability and my time is limited. I don’t want him to go to a mean family he is way way too sweet and loving. He loves loves to play. He will pee and poop on a puppy pad if inside. He does not beg for human food. He plays heavy then goes into hoppy chill mode about 30 minutes afterwards. He loves loves soft pillows blankets, even clothes lol. Definitely a toy lover he will tear it t pieces. He is very protective but punks out when trouble gets close lol but he will let you know when trouble or unknown activity is close.
