Story
Meet our special pup, rescued from a dog hoarder's care and ready for a forever home! This sweetheart is a true people-lover—there's no such thing as a stranger when it comes to him. He adores cuddles and belly rubs and will happily charm anyone he meets. When it comes to other dogs, he's more of a lone wolf. He's all about the human connection and would rather spend his days cozying up with his favorite people. His energy level is just right—up for outdoor adventures but a calm companion indoors. He's a leash-walking pro and sticks close to his handler like glue. Now, he's working on overcoming a touch of separation anxiety. He gets a bit worried when his beloved humans are out of sight, but with patience and love, he's learning that everything will be okay. Crate training is part of his routine to help him feel safe and secure. Once he knows he's part of a loving family, this loyal pup's heart will truly blossom. If you're ready to give him the forever love he craves, submit your application today! This little lovebug can't wait to meet you. Story
Animal Profile: Maestro is an estimated 5-year-old 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was rescued from SBC shelter and arriving to Seattle area foster care on Sunday Feb 18th. At the shelter he was kenneled with other dogs, and assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more info on Maestro as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Updates: Yes I bought Maestro a little bowtie and did a little photoshoot. How could I not get him a bowtie with "Maestro" for a name? Maestro is sweetheart with a lot of personality and playfulness. He’s fully housetrained, good on leash, and a top-tier cuddler. He gets along very well with other dogs, including my two resident dogs, but loves his person more than anything. He’s mostly calm when hanging out with us, but he twirls around when he’s excited and likes to play tug-of-war. He loves playing with his toys and doesn’t destroy them. He’s fine in his crate if I am around, and is getting better at being crated alone. He sleeps through the night in his crate very nicely. He’s very smart and eager to please. I think in his past life he was not fed regularly as he is very skinny and a bit obsessed with food. He can get over-excited and a little mouthy taking treats, so he’d be best in a home without young kids.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at  www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Maestro was found as a stray in San Bernardino and rescued by our partner ARF, transferred to Dog Gone Seattle, arriving to Seattle area foster care on 2/18. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. April 24, 2024, 6:50 pm

Story
Meet Qq 🫶 Qq was rescued from an illicit breeding farm in Goyang. She must have spent a long time in that environment where she had to stand with her toes spread wide to resist her feet from sliding into the floating cage and where all of feces, hairs, and dust were piled up beneath the floating cage, and the ammonia stench burned in her eyes. Qq's life is just now getting to normal, and is expected to be happier and healthier soon! * Toward People: Loves people! She is an adorable dog who wags her tail and pushes her head against people to indicate that she wants to be touched more. * Toward Dogs: Got along nicely with other dogs who shared the floating cage. Other from that, she didn't directly meet any other dog companions. * Potty Training: Training is required for indoor potty. Special Note * Tooth scaling is required due to extensive tooth loss and tartar.

Story
Gismo is a 2-year-old Poodle male about 15 lb. He's pretty good with other dogs and is being fostered in a home. His previous home was unable to keep him. He's can be vocal and high-strung. He's very cuddly and cute once he gets to know you. He can be wary of new people and new situations so taking it slow when you first meet him is crucial. He does fine in a crate. Gismo would do best with a single owner. He does fine with other dogs. No kids for Gismo, as he can bite when he's frightened or feels cornered. Gismo needs a family with a lot of rescue experience for him to overcome his behavioral issues. Gismo is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $500.

Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
