Story
Hello world! My name is MEG (or Megan) and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Schnauzer Mix  Age: approx. 1 year Gender: Female Weight: 15 lbs, 6.7 kg Height: approx. 40cm (paws to top of head), 30 cm (paws to shoulders) Length (head to butt): approx 54cm Neck circumference: 27 cm Chest circumference: 43 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY – I was found in a terrible neighbourhood in Mexico City known for being a place to dump unwanted dogs. I was all alone and very dirty, clearly neglected. Thankfully, I was rescued and taken to safety. I was bathed and looked like a different doggo! I am safe and sound at the shelter now, just patiently waiting for my forever home to find me.  TEMPERAMENT - I am a very affectionate girl who loves the company of other people. I am well tempered and oh so sweet. My rescuers say I am such a good girl. I love going for walks and love affection even more (video). I am a brave girl who hasn't shown many fears, which is amazing considering how I was found. I like to play with other doggy friends and I'm even good with cats! I love snacks like tortillas, apples, carrots, bread, chicken, and ham-- big foodie really, hehe! ENERGY LEVEL - medium energy - I'm pretty average in terms of energy! I require walks and play time, but then I'm happy to cuddle up and snooze. GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. Dogs – Yup! Check out my video. I don't play a ton, but I peacefully coexist with my shelter buddies. I also eat my meals in a big room with lots of other dogs and haven't exhibited any resource guarding tendencies. Cats – Yes, but no video of the interactions yet. If potential applicants have a cat, I can be "cat tested" on video for you! TRAINING: Leash skills – I love going for walkies and am super excited to sniff and explore my surroundings. As you can see from my video, I'm just so pumped to be outside that I pull a bit and excitedly sniff around me. I am a smart girl who will likely learn leash manners quickly with a well-fitted harness and lots of positive reinforcement :)  House trained – Not yet! With 100+ dogs at the shelter, I don't get the 1-on-1 attention needed to achieve house training status. Positive reinforcement and lots of frequent bathroom breaks will help me learn new habits in my forever home :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. I have proof of all my vaccines and test records. I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2016311##
