Story
This is a Courtesy Listing and has no affiliation with Petrescue. Please contact the owner listed below directly. Introducing Lorax, the 12 lb schnauzer terrier mix with a fascinating story. Though her paperwork suggests she's 7, her foster believes Lorax is more likely around 4 years old by the way she acts. Lorax is doing amazing with her house training, loves getting cozy at bedtime after a big meal. She lives in harmony with her foster cat. Lorax would thrive in a home with kids over 15 as preferably the only dog (but can co-exist with sibling). She loves her leash walk but at times she may bark at new people and other dogs. Her forever home should be a home with a fenced in yard, no apartments. Lax is looking for an experienced dog owner who will continue with her training. No first time dog owners, please. Lorax's inquisitive and intelligent nature makes her a perfect companion, and take a look at that beautiful mustache! Please email info@waggingtailsdogrescueny.com for more information on Lorax.

Story
Hi everyone, I am a beautiful female Schnauzer mix puppy named Barbie, about 5 months old, 14 lbs, and I was born in Mission Texas in a home with too many dogs. My sister Kenna and I were surrendered to 4 Little Paws so we could be properly cared for, spayed, and vaccinated, and ultimately find amazing homes in or near Connecticut, arriving on May 5th. Mark your calendar! I am a lovely girl, shy at first, but friendly with humans and other dogs. My foster mom calls me a “snuggle baby” because I love snuggles, attention, and kisses. I also love playtime, squeaky toys, and all kinds of treats. I’m quiet and obedient, eager to please, and love to be carried and spend time with my people. I stay nicely in a crate while my foster parents are out of the house and I don't make a fuss. I am already housebroken, and I will walk on a leash with a bit of encouragement. It looks like I will have an amazing future and I’m already wondering who will adopt me. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
** Current Location: South Korea ** With Cats She is currently living with cats in a temporary foster home. She is not aggressive with cats, but she is very interested in them, so if you have a cat that likes dogs, she would be fine. With Dogs She is currently living with the dogs in her foster home without any issues. They play well with each other, are socialized, and warm up quickly to new dogs they meet. With Adults/Kids She is very fond of people and loves to be petted. She warms up quickly to people she meets for the first time. Shedding Moderate. There is shedding in certain periods. Her fur is best brushed daily with a silicone brush. Walking Manner She loves to go for walks, both familiar and new, and prefers to take fast, wide, territorial walks (rather than slow, sniffing the trails). He also loves to run in the park, but will sometimes try to run outside if there is no fence. she is fast and has a lot of energy, so she loves to run around in large parks and meet people and dogs. she also loves to go for walks in the mountains, but she has a hunting instinct and is interested in small snakes, rodents, and birds. Housetrained She goes potty on pee pads and highly prefers to go outside. She can chew on wood and plastic furniture and will grab small items that fall on the floor and play with them. She's very playful and will run around with you if you have a like-minded friend in the house. Separation Anxiety She's always been around other dogs, so we can't confirm, but we think she'll be fine on her own. Bark or Howl She barks briefly when she hears strangers outside. There is no howl Carsickness She had drooling at first, but now she rides well. Personality She's sociable and energetic. She adapts to new places right away and loves to reach out to new people and friends she meets. She knows how to say hello to familiar people and friends. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to play with people. She picks up on new training quickly, so we think she would make a great dog for a family with a good understanding and training knowledge of dogs. She's a bit of a sneaky prankster right now, so she can get into trouble, but she's affectionate, gentle, and full of energy.

Story
Lana is a 3-year-old, 13-pound female schnauzer mix from Tijuana! Lana is a gentle, snuggly, playful pup. She has adjusted very well during her time in the city. Lana enjoys cuddling up with her toys, sitting on her foster parents lap, and going on short walks around the neighborhood. She is working on learning "sit" and other commands. During her time with her foster family, she has been working on her housetraining. She has not been using her pee pads, but in only a couple of days she has made great progress with outdoor potty training. She is a very quick learner and has easily adapted to her new environment.  Lana was found on the side of the road by our partner after being hit by a car. She has undergone two surgeries to heal her leg and walks with a limp (looks like a cute little hop), which may or may not go away with time. Despite this, Lana is very easy to walk on a leash. She has attached quickly to her foster family and always stays by their side on walks. Her tail is always wagging, she is eager and excited to go on her walks. Her injury does not seem to have any impact on her stamina or enjoyment during walks.  Because of her injury, her forever family will need to continue working with Lana to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making. At first she was very protective of her injured leg and had a fear of being picked up, but after only a day or two of cautious interaction she has become trusting of her foster family and allows them to pick her up. She needs someone willing to be patient and gentle with her as she still has some phantom pain and nervousness around strangers. However, once you gain her trust, she loves to be held and even rolls over for belly rubs.  Lana has done well when left alone during the day, she has mild separation anxiety and will whine for a bit after being left alone, but she quickly settles down and spends most of her alone time sleeping on her bed. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with sleeping with her arms wrapped around her favorite toy.  Lana is looking for a medium active family. She appreciates downtime, but also loves to walk and play fetch. She is very playful and loves to chase after her toys, but due to her limp she may not be able to go for very long walks or hikes. She would do great with or without another dog in the home. She gets along fine with her canine foster brother, but prefers to play with her human family. Lana has not been exposed to children, but she is very docile so we believe she would do fine in a home with children.  Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Lana, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2033241##
