Story
Meet Tilda! She is the biggest sweetie who just melts in to you for snuggles. Tilda is a 1.5-year-old, 10-pound Miniature Schnauzer and Yorkie mix. She loves to be with people and is good with other dogs. She seems fine with cats as well. When Tilda was taken to animal control as a stray, it was clear she had suffered some sort of blunt force head trauma. At first she was unable to stand, eat, or drink. After a few days with veterinary care, she began to improve. She still had the head tilt, and other signs of neurological trauma when we got her. However, within a week, her eyes were focusing, she gained a whole pound, and her head tilt was less severe. Tilda may always have a slight head tilt, but it doesn't slow her down! She loves to play with toys and other dogs. Running around in the foster's fenced yard is so fun for her. She still has some issues walking in a straight line on a leash. This little girl is the epitome of resilience. You can knock her down, but she will get back up again! Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $325. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Willa is an absolute darling schnauzer mix who is ever so timid but getting more sassy and loving by the day. She likes to watch TV next to you and sniff around outside. She's very curious and likes to stare out the window, and see what you're doing around the house. She's still coming around to going for regular walks and playing. If she doesn't like a food, treat, or medication, she will hold it in her mouth for a moment, stare at you until you think she's swallowed it, and spit it out. She's a funny little girl! It may be beneficial to have another small outgoing pup to help her open up and learn how to be a dog. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720).
