Story
Meet Owen!  A handsome, goofy boy who enjoys swimming, playing with other dogs and his toys. Owen is currently just under 70 lbs, just shy of his 3rd birthday and a total ham who doesn’t realize he’s not a lap dog. Owen thinks he is a giant puppy (we won’t tell him he’s actually an adult). His foster mom describes him as a puppy in a full-size dogs body. Owen is crate and potty trained. Cats are a little too interesting to Owen, so no feline friends for this hunk. While he is great with his human foster siblings (ages 5 & 9), he does jump when excited. Once he’s past that though, he is just a big potato who wants a family to call his own. Owen will even humor you and wear a silly hat for picture time. What’s not to love? He truly is a love bug!! If you would like to meet to OWEN, apply at EHRdogs.org. April 25, 2024, 6:38 am

Story
Meet Milo -- he’s an energetic, confident Mountain Cur pup with a heart of gold! At just under 1 y/o and 45ish lbs, he's a natural-born leader and loves to be on the go. Milo's always eager to learn and work, which makes him a perfect fit for farm, working, or active households. He's not one to mess around - Milo's all about pleasing his human and knowing what's expected of him. He already knows commands like Sit, Come and Stay.  Milo is also a social butterfly, having lived with small and large dogs and even feline friends (although he sometimes gets a bit frisky). While he's sure to be a hit with school-aged kids, his boundless energy might be a bit much for little ones. Whatever adventure comes his way, Milo is ready to take on the world with a wagging tail and a smile!  If you'd like to meet Milo, please visit ehrdogs.org and fill out an application.   April 25, 2024, 6:38 am

Story
My name is Newton! I am a really really handsome boy. I am 2 years old and honestly, I need someone to take a chance on me. I am a mix of hound, maybe some mountain dog and venturing to say some Aussie. I am longing for a chance to sit on the couch with my humans and get lots of love and playtime. I am a nice boy! I am good with other dogs (we are unsure of cats and because I probably have some herding breed in me, we should stay away from the felines for now). I am playful, I love to walk and have fun outdoor adventures. This is what would work for me in a new home. A fenced in yard would be perfect for me and a single family home would be ideal. My family/person needs to be relatively active - a person that will put a little time into some basic training, take me for walks or hikes or maybe even a mild jog sometimes. Did I tell you I won a race with my caretaker! That's me in the picture at the race! I have not been around young kids so ASCZ is recommending kids 10+. I have always welcomed new faces and may jump with excitement. I will need some housebreaking work when I go into my new home. I am 2 years old so it shouldn't take me long and I am SMART. I am kind of like a big kid who wants to play and have a lot of fun. If you are interested in giving me a chance in a real home setting, please apply here! ASCZ will be very excited to talk to you! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
We are desperately seeking a foster home for our Luna girl. She's a 6 year old 50ish lb beautiful brindle girl.  A few months ago, Luna came back to us when her adopter’s housing situation changed. Without an open foster home, Luna went into boarding. She has been doing really well there, but we’d love to see her back in a home.   Luna hasn’t lived with other dogs before and we’re told she can be dog selective, so we’re looking for a foster home where she can be the only dog for now. She’s happy to pass by others on walks, we just don’t know yet if she wants to share space with them. Luna is not a fan of the crate so someone who is home more often than not who can give her time to acclimate to a new environment is ideal. Her biggest joy is hanging on the couch by your side. Luna  has a moderate energy level and walks pretty well with a harness. She is housebroken, but there may be an adjustment period as she transitions back into a home from a kennel. She’s very loving and attentive to her person. Although she hasn't lived with them, she is fine with kids.  If you can foster Luna, even if only temporarily, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com     Luna is a 6 year old beautiful brindle girl. She is friendly and fine with kids.   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 10:55 pm
