Story
We are offering a most regal and unusual Norwegian Elkhound female, named Svart (meaning dark in color) but we prefer to call her “Cleopatra”.  This gorgeous girl is the leader and Queen of them all.  Regal and fully confident, she is everything we know Cleopatra to have been back in her days of making history.  She is the epitome of the attitude and full reigning power in her breeding pack.  This 5 year old girl is gorgeous and is bigger than most at 65 pounds.  Undeniably in charge , Cleopatra Svart insists on being the focus of your family’s life.  She can live in peace with most dogs now that she has been spayed but correct introductions are necessary. She is fine with dogs outside the home but a living situation inside her family would be a careful introduction to live peacefully. She is happy with all the humans she meets and she is part of a large pack of breeder dogs that her owner is asking Critter Cavalry Rescue to help place. She is downsizing and getting out of the breeding business.   Our Svart AKA Cleopatra, needs a place of her own inside a home with her dog bed throne to await her.  If you are interested in this regal queen, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com She is ready for YOU to walk her down the red carpet to her new home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Gregarious Gail, as we call her, is just 21 months old and is a true beauty of a pure bred Norwegian Elkhound.  She possesses all the wonderful traits through and through. Gail is a special girl because as a puppy she had an infection that caused her to lose her tail and two toes on her back feet.  She is so cute with the shorter tail and it hasn't slowed her down a bit. In fact, Gail is a very active and athletic lady who can jump, run, spin and play.  Gail hasn't had much of a start in life and she deserves much more.   She is outgoing and very sweet and just a touch shy at first when she meets new people and new situations.  Critter Cavalry rescued her an overwhelmed Elkhound breeder and has promised this loving, loyal and friendly girl, to give her a family that will recognize her special bright spirit.  She gets along well with others and goodness just look at that beautiful face. She is going to make some person or family so very happy.  This rare breed is known for being extremely loyal, intelligent and sensitive.    If you are interested in owning a breed that is fast becoming rare in the U.S. then please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a fresh new start to her young life. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Bjorn is the best boy!  He is a 4 year old pure bred Norwegian Elkhound who is a a big sweet baby boy. Bjorn likely weighs close to 70 pounds.  Bjorn has the best attitude and personality.  He has not had much of a start in life- living outside in a kennel and having just his basic needs met- somehow his personality has remained sunny. Norwegian Elkhounds are an old and rare breed- known for their intelligence, loyalty, independence and sensitive nature.  He has the happiest face and despite never being away from his home he shined through his photo shoot and gave us the biggest smile. Bjorn gets along well with his dog friends and kennel mates.  This boy is going to make some family very happy.  He is waiting on a better life, a life where he learns about soft beds, toys and treats and a family's special love.   If you are interested, please write and ask for an application to: ccrtennessee.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Introducing Jeff, our charming, handsome, 2-year-old Norwegian Elkhound with a heart as big as his fluffy coat.  Despite a rocky start in life, Jeff's resilient spirit shines through, even if he's a bit shy and timid at first.  He has been part of a breeder flock that was overwhelmed in numbers and the breeder decided to stop breeding.  She has asked Critter Cavalry to please help place some of her adult dogs that need some special attention and one-on-one love.  This gorgeous purebred has all the makings of a loyal companion for life.  As a Norwegian Elkhound, Jeff embodies the best qualities of his breed; intelligence, loyalty and a gentle nature.  However, he'll need a special someone who can provide the patience, time and structured environment he needs to blossom.  With a little bit of love and understanding, Jeff is sure to come out of his shell and show his true colors.  We are wanting a home with another confident dog, a fenced yard and the ability to be outside for hours as he is such an outdoorsy guy.  Jeff is longing for a loving home where he can learn that humans are friends and explore the joys of life with a devoted family by his side.  If you're ready to open your heart and home to this deserving pup, you'll be rewarded with endless loyalty, companionship and the joy of watching Jeff thrive in his new environment.  Give Jeff the chance he deserves and you'll be amazed at the love and happiness he brings into your life.  This breed of dog is getting scarce and you will not find any of them in the U.S. in the next 10 years.  He is one of a kind.  Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  Mention where you live please; city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm
