Story
Stevie was adopted from KCPP in 2021. She is a great dog but has recently become unpredictable around the cats in the house and the other family dog. When it comes to dogs, she can be very aggressive and protective of food, toys and treats. With cats, she chases them, but we genuinely think she wants to play with them but they are afraid of her given her size. We think she would do best in a home where she is the only dog. She doesn’t realize she weighs 70lbs and thinks she is a lap dog, but she is very sweet, downright goofy, and loves her people. She’s been around kids 10+ and did great, but smaller kids could easily be knocked over when she gets playful. She has allergies to a lot of food, but it’s managed by a daily dose of Benadryl. She gets the zoomies, so a backyard or a family with outdoor space would be ideal. She is crate trained and house trained, but she sleeps in her crate at night, with no issues.

Meet Dakota Dakota is a sweet boy who is well behaved. He has a great temperament, he's happy to go for a walk or snuggle on the couch. He is a little fearful of some things (sudden noises) and situations (construction sites), but he puts his trust in his handler that everything is OK. Dakota is probably about 8 years old. He came in to us on the skinny side, but he loves treats, he will sit like a champ just in case you have one to share, and he's getting some good chow, so he ought to be in great condition in no time. Please come visit him to see if he's a match for you/your family! FLSF is open MWF 11-4 and 9-noon the second Saturday of the month. CALL 913-684-4939 for an appointment or for more information. My brother was in a difficult situation and ended up being homeless. We attempted to surrender him to our local shelter but they refused to take him due to space issues. I have taken him in for the meantime, but this is only a temporary situation. I am unable to keep him. I am disabled so I am not able to walk him when my husband is not home due to his size. I believe he is somewhere around 6 years old. From what we can tell, he seems to be good with other animals and kids, but we don't know his full history so anything is possible. I would just love for him to find his forever home and be happy and loved. He is always craving attention and loves to play. He can pull hard and be energetic so he may need daily walks to help with that.
