Story
Meet Holly - who was clearly someone's pet when they abandoned her in the parking lot at a local hotel in Puerto Rico. She stayed around the hotel in hopes they would come back, but never did... her nights were spent sleeping on a bench until our partner rescue SCARPR.org rescued her. She was neglected and was positive for heartworm at that time. She has now gone through her treatment and is feeling and looking good and is ready to find her forever home! She is a sweet girl who just wants love. We have a tentative space for her to travel to MN on April 3rd...

My name is Puff and I'm a happy-go-lucky boy! Do you like to play? Me too!! I love to play at every opportunity whether it's with toys, other dogs, or my humans. My foster mom says that I'm really good at settling down too when playtime is over. My favorite place to relax is on the cool kitchen floor since all this fluff can get a little warm. I'm also a fast learner and so far I've learned how to sit and come when called. I'm practicing "Stay" right now but I'd rather press my whole body into my humans legs to get pets and butt scratches so I'm still working on that one! I sleep through the night in my crate and I'm getting really good at potty training. I still have the occasional tinkle accident but I'm improving every day. I love going for walks with my fur buddies and I've actually stopped traffic with my happy little prance. Trust me, it's the cutest thing you've ever seen! Want to see it for yourself? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxPlease read the full bio! We want to find the perfect match for Jennie! Jennie came from a puppy mill environment where she was not provided much chance at socialization or care. While she has come a long way she will do best in a home with some knowledge of this type of background and trauma these dogs have. While Jennie may never become a cuddle bug or lap dog she shows great potential for growth and improvement with the right kind of love and attention.  Potential adopters should be willing to invest time in building a strong bond with Jennie. A gradual introduction to new experiences and people, along with positive reinforcement.  An ideal home for Jennie would look like: Having a confident dog in her new home would be a great benefit to her as she can learn from them to trust the humans around her.  A person who is home more often than not.  Either no kids, or older kids who will respect her space.  Low to moderate activity and noise level in the home. A fenced in yard is required. Consistent routine.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.   Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 10/01/2015 Requires another dog in home: Yes, needs another confident dog Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, dog friendly dogs Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 13 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fence  Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Jessie and I am the perfect combination of sweet and gentle. I am a timid and shy girl who is making tremendous progress living in a home with a loving family. I have learned so many things – the most important is to trust my people. My people have been very gentle and going slow with me and I have made a lot of progress. She gives me little massages on my head and back – it is so relaxing for me and my people. I have the softest coat and I think you will agree! I am a shy little girl, so having a confident dog in my forever home is required. Another dog will be helpful to show me the ropes, help me get on a routine and help me feel comfortable in my surroundings. Foster mom tells me with a little time and a lotta love, I will come out of my shell and be a great friend to my people. A lot of commotion worry me a bit, so I spend time in my comfy bed watching the activity in the house. Hopefully you have lots of comfy beds for me! Potty training is going great, my foster mom carries me outside and I am good about doing my business on a routine. While I will go potty on a leash, I don't know how to go for walks yet so will need a fence. Maybe there is another dog in the house to show me how to walk on a leash? Hopefully! Anyway, I am ready for my forever. My forever family, my forever home and my forever best friend that will love me unconditionally, not give up on me! I promise I’m worth it and I will fill that hole that you possibly never even knew was there! Love, Jessie *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  How exciting!  I’m so happy knowing I am ready to have my very own forever home and I’m hoping it’s soon.  I may be a bit cautious at first, but trust me, once I realize I'm in a safe and loving environment, my sweet and playful side shines through. I'm learning quickly that I'm surrounded by caring humans, and each day, I'm opening up a bit more. I’m learning so much and starting to come out of my shell. I like having fun with toys, ropes and bones.  I just love playing and also treats.  Every day there seems to be new things to discover and explore. I am showing my people that I am a very smart girl and recently learned the word "sit." I know we will learn so much more together! There are young kids here at my foster home and we have a good time together, too, because they understand my boundaries and are gentle towards me.  Younger kids who are loud and move quickly would not be a match for me.  I do well in my crate and am working on potty training but do well with a good schedule.  We have started practicing leash walking and I am a work in progress. If you promise to keep working with me on leash training, I don't need a fence in my forever home.  I do well with all other dogs (I do prefer the smaller ones) and would benefit from having a confident and social dog in my forever home to help me learn to trust and get on a routine.  Patience is the key as I continue to learn and build trust. I'm destined to become a wonderful companion, and with a little patience and love, I'll be the perfect addition to your family. If you're ready to embark on this journey of trust, love, and playfulness, let's meet soon! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello! I’m Beans & Rice…no, I’m not really food…that’s just my name! Hee, hee! I am a stunning albeit VERY shy & fearful young adult female Pomapoo. I enjoy chewing on rubbery things like bully sticks & Nyla bones, eating freeze dried chicken & liver treats, and when I think nobody’s watching me, I love to sneak around and explore everything! Hee, hee!! I have come a long way since joining my foster family and they are so proud of me! I have started to show interest in what they are doing and will occasionally wander into the kitchen to see what is cooking. Some would call me a foodie because I do love mealtime! I even let my people know with a little barking how excited I am at mealtime. I’m working on potty training and although I’m leash trained, I will need my new yard to be securely fenced to ensure my safety. I also know what “wait”, “outside”, and “go potty” mean so you can see I’m quite smart! I’m a quiet girl who has not met any cats or larger dogs and I’m fearful of loud noises, commotion, & people. In fact, although I’m good with kids, I’m fearful of people I don’t even like to be picked up until we get to know each other. I just don’t have a lot of experience with trusting people so having another dog in my forever home is important to show me how to trust people and get on a routine. That said, since coming to live with foster mom I have made, what I consider, a LOT of progress although VERY SLOWLY and on my own terms. I am most comfortable in my safe spot (dog bed) where I can observe the goings on around me. Foster mom was SO excited that I not only tried out the dog bed but love it! See…I’m making progress…It's the small things am I right!?! Anyway, I have also started to initiate play with my two small senior canine sibs, but it must be said that I’m not a fan of the puppy mom’s fostering. Additionally, I have tolerated foster mom putting harnesses that make that terrifying Velcro sound & cones on my neck; giving me oral liquid medications; bathing & brushing my beautiful coat; and trimming my nails…all of it!! So clearly, I’m trying diligently to conquer my fears because honestly, I want nothing more than to trust people and be comfortable in my world! I am a preciously sweet and timid girl who truly deserves unconditional love & security from a patient fur-ever family that not only promises to NEVER give up on me but who will give me the time & space I need. Yes, it may take quite a bit of time for me to be comfortable and learn to trust but I assure you not only am I worth it, but I will love you more than you could ever imagine!!!
