Story
Hello!! My name is Cora.  Here is some information about me:Breed: Beagle MixAge: 1.5 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 32 lbsHeight: 20”Highlights: Playful, loving, smart, spunky, compact size I was just a pup when my life took a turn for the better. Rescued from a grim fate in a cramped shelter, I owe my second chance to kind-hearted humans who saw beyond my troubled past. My siblings and I endured cruelty, but now, I'm slowly learning that not all humans are like the one who hurt us. In my new home, filled with warmth and care, I'm discovering the love and security I never knew existed. Despite my cautious nature around humans, there's an undeniable longing in me for their love and affection. I'm still figuring out this whole trust thing, but I'm making progress, one paw at a time. When it comes to my foster sisters, though, caution melts away into exuberant playfulness. Give me a squeaky toy or a playful bone, and I'll wag my tail like there's no tomorrow. But don't let my energetic bursts fool you—I'm also a sleepy girl at heart, cherishing every cozy nap like it's a treasure.  Love snuggles with my foster dad: https://youtube.com/shorts/9baQsb-hVQ8 Overall, I'm a mix of caution, playfulness, and an abundance of love just waiting to be shared. To top it off, I know basics like crate, bed, outside, sit and down. I will stay in the crate until released and will sit and wait to be released in and out the backdoor. My foster is working on making leash training a positive experience. I'm making tremendous progress. Energy Level:  ModerateI get along with:Dogs: Yes.Cats: UnknownKids: Unknown Fears/Prey Drive:  I am cautious of humans, men more commonly. It's best to sit still, silent and let me come to you. I gain trust quicker this way.  Training:  Yes. Basic commands.Leash Skills: in process. Please be prepared to continue my training.House trained: Yes. Please assist training me where to go in my new home. Health Notes: I am microchipped and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes.  This includes transport to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2014543##
