Story
Ava is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Ava is a Chihuahua/rat terrier mix approximately 1 1/2 years old and 15 pounds. She is a chunk, low to the ground and dense. Ava was rescued from our local animal shelter. She is a very good girl. She is at a good age where she is past the point of chewing on things and destroying things like a puppy. However, she is still young and has quite a bit of energy and playfulness to her. She loves other dogs and is great with kids. She will try and chase the cats. Ava does appear to have a little prey drive to her, which is very typical of a rat terrier as that is what they are bred for. Ava does like to roughhouse play and run around outdoors but she also loves to cuddle and is not overly hyper. As long as she gets some outdoor time, walks and play time in, she is otherwise calm and will love a couch snuggle. She walks well on leash and generally gets along with everyone. She would do well with other dogs but she may be a bit much for small frail senior dogs. Ava just needs some basic routine and training and she is going to be a fantastic part of the family. Story
Jack Jack is a loving, energetic and playful puppy. He is just over a year old. I took Jack in after finding him abandoned near downtown,Buffalo. At that time I was working part time. I now work full time and I just dont have the time to care for him in the way that he deserves. Jack Jack is house trained and crate trained. He loves to play fetch, go on walks and snuggle. He likes to sit in front of the heater to keep toasty and loves lots of affection. He is not a big barker. In the short time that I've had him ( since 8/2023), he has learned to "sit, stay, come, paw, drop it, wait". He is very smart and catches on quickly. Jack is EXCELLENT with children and other dogs. I am looking for family that has the time to walk him regularly, play with him and doesn't mind snuggling with him. I would prefer a family who has experience with dogs. Jack loves to be mentally and physically stimulated.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Senior alert!  Chalupa is a Senior rat terrier that was rescued from a shelter in Baton Rouge.  He is roughly about 11 years old and 20 pounds.   Chalupa is a laid back soul that loves being in a home instead of a scary shelter.  He is set in his ways and does not want a busy home.  Chalupa needs a bit of time to adjust in a new home so owner experience would be best.  He needs to get to know you and trust you.  He is most happy in a little bed and if the weather is cold, a floor heater is his best friend!  Chalupa is not a highly active dog, he is more of a couch potato.  Chalupa appears to be housetrained and is always keen to go outside.  He will often go to the door to let you know he would like to go outside. He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and loves to wander in it when we are outside.  He walks nicely on a leash too and is eager to go for walks.  Chalupa is fine with other dogs, he does not want to play or wrestle but will sleep with them and just hang out in the house.  For some reason the other dogs in his foster home always wants to play with him.  Sometimes he will, sometimes he won't.  When they get rowdy, he will bark at them.  Chalupa should be in a kid free home but if they come to visit, he will be fine if left alone or crated.  Chalupa is looking for a quiet retirement home to spend his golden years in.  He will be great as a companion for someone that would like a little buddy to hang out with, go on an occasional walk or car ride with.     Chalupa is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental.  His adoption fee is $150  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2024, 9:03 am
