Story
Meet Maizy! Hello there, my name is Maizy! You may remember me as being "the last save of 2023". I needed a place to go quickly, and the good people of Albert's found an open spot for me! Since I'm a golden oldie, they sure didn't want to see me end up at a shelter. I'm about 20 pounds, and though I'm little, I'm not too much of a lap dog. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being around my people, but I likely won't cuddle with you. I'm really good with other dogs, and even cats. I could do well with older, respectful kiddos, but they must understand that I won't want to be held. I'm working super hard with my potty training, and I'm doing well with going on potty pads, but man, it's cold outside right now, so please don't hold anything against me if I don't exactly find going outside desirable! My favorite pastime is curling up in a nice cozy dog bed to take a nap in the sunshine! Added blankets would be a huge bonus! I'm not too fond of not seeing my humans and will voice my displeasure with it, so apartment living isn't ideal for me. I'm a little hard of hearing, so you might have to yell to get my attention, or if you know I can see you, you could wave me to come to you if you'd like. I'm a super sweet gal, but I'm a bit timid at first. I've recently had a big life change aferall. I'm hoping I get to find a loving family I can be a part of soon, so I can say I have a home of my own for the rest of my days! Do you have a little spot for a lady like myself in your home? *Maizy is being fostered in the Port Washington area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Mira! Howdy, my name is Mira which means “admirable” and fits me quite well. I'm a golden oldie who still has a little spunk left in me. At just 17 pounds, I'm small enough to be picked up when needed, but I get around just fine on my own. I get along well with other dogs, and I don't mind cats. I love humans and could live with small humans who are respectful of me. Foster mom calls me “honeybun” sometimes because I’m as sweet as can be! I'm a good girl and go potty outside when I'm kept on a regular schedule. I really enjoy going for car rides, and I'll climb right in my kennel and lay down for the trip. I actually enjoy relaxing in my kennel. I'm silly and social and will go with you to neighborhood outings or to local brewery for dinner. I'll happily take walks with you to explore the neighborhood and new places. Walks help to keep me healthy, which is good since I take some medications to keep my little heart happy. I'll gladly show my humans how much they mean to me with snuggles on the couch and at bedtime I'll go straight to my kennel and snooze away until it's time to get up in the morning. I'm hoping I find my forever family soon so we have as many days to spend with each other as we can! Maybe you are the missing piece to my happily ever after? *Mira is being fostered in Madison, WI. Jellie came in with her friend Bellie when their owner passed away. Though a little shy when first meeting people, she is blossoming quite well. She gets along with other dogs but would like a home with older children. Jellie can be a runner/door dasher and will need to be worked with that in the home. Jellie and Bella are able to find homes separately. Ask about her today!

Story
Are you wishing your dog knew how to do tricks? Meet Arthur who already knows so many of them! Arthur is the sweetest boy. He is full of spunk and cuddles for his people. He's looking for an adult-only forever home, where he can be the strong, healthy and happy boy he is meant to be. Arthur was an owner surrender to SFTS, from a family who he'd been with for the first 5 years of his life. Now, at 6 years old, he's looking for the forever family who will keep him through all of his senior years. He enjoys belly rubs, scratches behind his ears, under his chin and right above his tail. In his foster home, Arthur is showing his love of puzzles and running around their fenced in yard. He would love a house with a fenced yard and a doggie door that he could access to go outside whenever he'd like. He does great on walks, the game of fetch and loves a good splash and jumping around in shallow water. He doesn't want to swim but will enjoy impressing you by digging a good hole on the shore. Arthur can also show you how to enjoy a good sunbath and chew on a stick. Just how smart is Arthur? He knows many commands like sit, stay, lay down, off, come, stop, ok-go (to cross street), spin, touch, close, open (relative to doors)! Arthur aims to please and can be easily taught other commands. Arthur would love a family who had someone that worked from home or where he was not alone throughout the day. Arthur deals with separation anxiety due to the amount of love he has for human interaction. Arthur has done well with other animals, and has even attended Doggy Day care, but does prefer a patient introduction to new animals that he will be living with. He enjoys sharing his thoughts on all the things he's curious about. Does this sassy, energetic guy sound like a good match for you? All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and have received routine deworming. Story
This adorable girl is Erin. She was transferred to SFTS with a small group of other dogs from Milwaukee animal control. We believe she is a Jack Russell Terrier mix, and around 5 yrs old, so we won't be getting any bigger than she is now. Erin is a sweet, friendly girl, and has loved all of the people she's met. She would love a forever home where she could be your only pup, but may do ok with the right furry companion. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.
