Story
Meet Maizy! Hello there, my name is Maizy! You may remember me as being "the last save of 2023". I needed a place to go quickly, and the good people of Albert's found an open spot for me! Since I'm a golden oldie, they sure didn't want to see me end up at a shelter. I'm about 20 pounds, and though I'm little, I'm not too much of a lap dog. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being around my people, but I likely won't cuddle with you. I'm really good with other dogs, and even cats. I could do well with older, respectful kiddos, but they must understand that I won't want to be held. I'm working super hard with my potty training, and I'm doing well with going on potty pads, but man, it's cold outside right now, so please don't hold anything against me if I don't exactly find going outside desirable! My favorite pastime is curling up in a nice cozy dog bed to take a nap in the sunshine! Added blankets would be a huge bonus! I'm not too fond of not seeing my humans and will voice my displeasure with it, so apartment living isn't ideal for me. I'm a little hard of hearing, so you might have to yell to get my attention, or if you know I can see you, you could wave me to come to you if you'd like. I'm a super sweet gal, but I'm a bit timid at first. I've recently had a big life change aferall. I'm hoping I get to find a loving family I can be a part of soon, so I can say I have a home of my own for the rest of my days! Do you have a little spot for a lady like myself in your home? *Maizy is being fostered in the Port Washington area. Story
Meet Mira! Howdy, my name is Mira which means “admirable” and fits me quite well. I'm a golden oldie who still has a little spunk left in me. At just 17 pounds, I'm small enough to be picked up when needed, but I get around just fine on my own. I get along well with other dogs, and I don't mind cats. I love humans and could live with small humans who are respectful of me. Foster mom calls me “honeybun” sometimes because I’m as sweet as can be! I'm a good girl and go potty outside when I'm kept on a regular schedule. I really enjoy going for car rides, and I'll climb right in my kennel and lay down for the trip. I actually enjoy relaxing in my kennel. I'm silly and social and will go with you to neighborhood outings or to local brewery for dinner. I'll happily take walks with you to explore the neighborhood and new places. Walks help to keep me healthy, which is good since I take some medications to keep my little heart happy. I'll gladly show my humans how much they mean to me with snuggles on the couch and at bedtime I'll go straight to my kennel and snooze away until it's time to get up in the morning. I'm hoping I find my forever family soon so we have as many days to spend with each other as we can! Maybe you are the missing piece to my happily ever after? *Mira is being fostered in Madison, WI. Story
Meet Livvy! Hey there, y'all! My name is Livvy, and I come to you as a southern lady who knows what she wants in life as a senior gal now! My short little legs and 50+ body will lead you to believe that food and treats are something I'll never say no to, and your assumptions aren't wrong. Yes, I need to lose a couple-few pounds, but my foster pawrents are working on that with me, and I've come a long way in just a short amount of time! I should be closer to a small dog's size rather than a larger dog's size. I get along well with my foster fur siblings, and even if they're bigger than me, I'm not afraid to let them know if they do something I don't like. I'm pretty curious about cats, so I probably shouldn't live with them, and though I haven't met any kids in my foster home, I could live with older, respectful kids. The little ones might be too much for me since I don't see too well anymore. I'm a smart girl and go potty outside, and not only can I go down the steps on the deck, I can also go UP them now! Remember how I said I don't see too well anymore? Well, mainly, that's when it's dark, so I'm not quite ready for a white cane yet. During the day, I can see fairly okay. I'm a good girl on walks and love to get my sniffies in, which is a good thing since I'm on a strict weight loss plan. I might have short little legs, but I enjoy walking nonetheless. I have personality for days and will always keep you smiling. I enjoy getting pets, and I bet if I could get on the couch with you, I would because it looks super comfy! I'm going to need a home dedicated to helping me shed the rest of my extra fluff and love me beyond reason! If you can give me that commitment, I'll give you all of my love! *Livvy is being fostered in the Fort Atkinson, WI area.
