Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Back in July, a sweet young black Lab mix was rescued in Memphis just before she gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies. The father, of course, is unknown but from the pups’ appearance is believed to be a Rottie.  Mamma Dog has long since been adopted but a couple of her pups are still awaiting their forever families… including Siri. Siri is a 7 month old female Rottie/Lab mix. She’s very gentle and sweet, a little shy with strangers but warms up quickly. Good with other dogs and living comfortably with 2 other dogs in her foster home.  Not cat tested yet. Loves kids and recommended for children 10 years and older.  Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Housebroken and crate trained. Loves to be with her people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Estimated DOB is 8-3-23.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 25 pounds.  Sweet young Rottie/Lab mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for a family who loves the breed. Story
Meet Argos! A beautiful and loyal Rottweiler from Forked River, New Jersey. This 5 year old loving boy is a true gem! Argos is not just a loyal companion; he is ready to be a cherished family member. Argos thrives on the simple joys of life, and one of his favorite activities is going for long walks, exploring the world around him, and reveling in the fresh air. He's a well-mannered fellow who's mastered essential commands like sit, stay, lay down, and eagerly awaits the mention of "good boy!" His eyes light up with excitement at the mere mention of "treats"! With a medium energy level, Argos strikes a perfect balance between playtime and relaxation. However, he could benefit from additional training to refine his manners and ensure he remains the best possible companion. Argos is naturally protective, making him an excellent guardian, although he may display resource-guarding tendencies, so it's essential to be mindful of this behavior. To provide the best possible life for Argos, his new caregiver must be experienced with Rottweilers and have a deep understanding of the breed's characteristics. Argos thrives when he's the center of attention, so he's best suited as the only dog in the household, ensuring he receives the undivided love and care he deserves. In Argos, you'll discover a loyal and devoted companion who is eager to bond with someone willing to invest time and effort into consistent training. He yearns for a responsible and understanding person who can guide him through life, providing the structure and guidance he needs. With the right individual by his side, Argos is ready to share his big heart and unending loyalty. If you are ready to learn more and offer Argos the best life possible, he's waiting for you to be his forever friend and partner in adventure! To make sure that Argos has a great start with his new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. If you have any questions about Argos, please email adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Introducing Reyna, the regal and affectionate Rottweiler mix who lives up to her name as the Queen of the Good Girls. Reyna is ready to reign supreme in her forever home, surrounded by love and care. Reyna's journey began when she was found on the highway, abandoned and in desperate need of help. Despite her challenging start in life, Reyna's resilience and loving nature shone through. She captured the hearts of those who discovered her, and her transformation began. This beautiful girl is a Rottweiler mix, displaying the distinctive markings and strong physique of her breed. While her exact mix may be a mystery, her gentle and loving demeanor sets her apart as a special companion. Reyna is best suited to a home with older kids who can understand and respect her needs. Although she is a sweetheart, her size and strength may be better suited to older children who can handle her with care. She is not compatible with cats, so a feline-free household is necessary. When it comes to her fellow canines, Reyna prefers larger dogs. A meet-and-greet is recommended to ensure compatibility and a harmonious living environment, however she can go to a family out of town who either has no others or an easy going dog. Reyna thrives on positive interactions and socialization, making her a wonderful companion for those with existing canine family members. This majestic girl is crate-trained and does not experience separation anxiety. She is comfortable spending time in her crate and will appreciate having a safe and cozy space to call her own. Reyna has already learned the simple trick of sitting for treats, showcasing her intelligence and willingness to please. Reyna has a list of favorite things that bring her joy. She relishes car rides, delighting in the wind blowing through her fur as she accompanies her family on their adventures. Rolling in the grass and exploring the neighborhood during walks are among her cherished pastimes. Reyna loves running and exercising her energetic nature, so an active lifestyle is essential for her well-being. When it's time to unwind, Reyna appreciates soft blankets and toys that provide comfort and entertainment. She adores spending time with her beloved humans, soaking up their affection and companionship. Reyna is a loyal and devoted companion, always ready to be by your side. While Reyna has her preferences, there are a couple of dislikes to note. She is not fond of cats, and water is not her favorite element. Understanding and respecting these preferences will help ensure a harmonious home environment for Reyna. Reyna's story is one of resilience and triumph over adversity. From her initial discovery, where she was found dumped on the highway, to her miraculous transformation into a loving and gentle soul, she has shown incredible strength and a capacity for love. If you're searching for a royal canine companion, Reyna is waiting to be crowned the queen of your heart and home. With her regal presence, gentle nature, and unwavering loyalty, she will bring immeasurable joy to your life. Welcome Reyna into your family, and let her reign over a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventures by your side. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST!!! I am the same way, I am sweet on one side and salty on the other- together we are perfect! I have a tale to tell, however, none of it matters anymore because I am here right now to tell you- the best is yet to come! I am a big love bug, and although I can be nervous at first- I settle in quickly to be just a big couch potato! I am good with other dogs and would love to have a friend for life in my forever home. I am good with calm older dogs, not much for puppy energy all.the.time... :) I love kids, and would be great with school aged/teenagers (and not many others LIKE teenagers so I can be their buddy :) and would be good in a calmer/quieter home. I want so much to please my family and will look to you for love and attention. I also need a strong leadership family- I have tried to take over control in my first adoptive home and it was not appreciated. SO, you need to be my boss, it's not hard- just let me know you are someone I can trust to keep me safe and take EXCELLENT care of me- with love and more love and I will LET you be in control. Simple as that :) I am a big boy, about 75#, with GORGEOUS colors and markings. I will melt your heart when you look into my amber eyes and into my sweet soul. So don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! I need to stay in TX so my rescuers can keep tabs on me and see me every once in awhile, cause they are going to MISS ME!!! But, adoption is why I am here, so they will get over it! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Prince.  This handsome boy was shot and left for dead in a dumpster.  Somehow this brave boy managed to crawl out.  When he was found he had curled up on a couch, gave up, waiting for death.  A volunteer was contacted and we rushed him to the vet. He was shot in the eye, the bullet grazed his brain and lodged in his chest.  He came in with a severe infection in both the eye.  After a week in the ICU, a plasma transfusion and eye enucliation he is ready for a new home.   Prince is great on a leash, absolutely loves people and is very friendly.  However he is cat and dog reactive and needs to be the only pet.  He constantly wants to be with his people.  He will need a privacy or 6 foot fence if he is going to be left alone or he will try to find you by jumping out. Prince was born around 11/2021 and he weighs 50 pounds.  HIs adoption fee is $300.  You can apply for Prince at www.adoggie4you.org.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 23, 2024, 11:41 am
