Story
Maddie is a happy lady who doesn't know how big she is and will plop her 67 pounds right on your lap. She is affectionate and determined to give you kisses. She loves everyone she sees. She was found as a stray and invited to stay a few days at her finder's home. She might know something about house training but please be patient if she needs more guidance. She rode well in his car, looking out the window the entire time. She is jumpy and pulls while on a leash. She is strong and weighs 67 pounds. She knows the sit command. She loved playing with her finder's puppy and is interested in her shelter neighbors. We haven't seen her around children yet. She is curious, quiet, and playful. Please offer friendly Maddie the home and family she deserves. (tw 4/2/2024)

Story
Nyla is a great puppy who appreciates quality lap time and getting lots of attention and pets. She weighs 30 pounds now but will be a big girl someday. She is very active and likes fetch, running, tugging, toys, and walks where she is well behaved on a leash. She knows the sit command - sometimes. She is still working on house training and spent her days either freely roaming the house or outside which she really enjoys. She is easygoing, friendly, and playful with other dogs and wants to play with dogs she meets during walks and at the dog park. She is friendly and playful with cats. She has experience with children as young as six and is friendly, playful, and jumpy with them. She is being given up because she was too much for her elderly owner to handle. She only got into trouble for jumping up. Please offer this social butterfly the home and family she needs. (tw 4/17/2024)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I am perfect! I am sweet, gentle and loving. Shy when you first meet me.Tori was recently interviewed to see why she hasn't been adopted. She is picky!  Tori believes she deserves the best family. Here is what she wants in a new home. 1. Love me as I will love you - unconditionally and forever. 2. Spend time with me. Exercise me daily 3. Feed me good, healthy food 4. Let me join in with all the family activities. I am a good girl and obedient. 5. I need at least one other playmate with my energy level. 6. I love water and would like nothing better than to play on the beach in the waves. These don't seem to be a tough list of requirements does it? Tori is Brindle with the classic face. She is as sweet as she can be. Tori loves to play but would like nothing better than to snuggle on the couch. She insists on hugs, not kisses and will sneak a drink of unprotected coffee if you aren't watching!    Tori is great with all her foster siblings from the smallest to the biggest. She follows behind her brothers and plays chase in the yard, or hide and seek in the house. She is going to make an awesome addition to any family.   Tori is cautious and shy. She will need patience and love in her new home but once she has gained confidence she will be totally dedicated. Please contact info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online at www.aarfhouston.org/forms . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. Story
Meet Kasper, a stunning Rottweiler whose journey to finding a loving home has been marked with resilience. Formerly known as Kenji, he was discovered on the roadside, enduring injuries and severe malnourishment. Despite his challenging past, Kasper is a sweet and young boy who deserves a second chance at happiness. This gorgeous lad is fantastic with other medium to large dogs when introduced properly, but he's not suited for households with small dogs or cats. Kasper is a quick learner, especially when treats are involved – his eagerness to please makes training a breeze. He's mastered commands like sit, lay, stay, and more! House-trained and impeccably well-mannered indoors, he knows the ropes and doesn't engage in destructive behavior like chewing. Kasper's loyalty shines through, a trait inherent in his breed. However, due to his cautious nature around quick movements, a home without children would be the ideal environment for him. Rottweiler enthusiasts understand the importance of structure, rules, and safety in nurturing these amazing companions. Kasper simply needs a chance to showcase his true colors and thrive with someone patient, committed, and understanding of the responsibilities that come with caring for a family member. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Kasper, whether through fostering or adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.scoutshonor.org. Let's provide Kasper with the love, care, and stability he deserves, ensuring he blossoms into the loyal and devoted family member he's destined to be!April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm
