Story
Hi, my name is Sirius. If you think that is an odd name for a dog, it may be unusual but that is because it is reserved for the most special dog. You see it was the Sirius star that Homer noted in the Odyssey. Sirius is the brightest star in the constellation. It is so bright that it is often singled out. Now I bet you did not think I would be telling you about astronomy and Greek mythology did you? But I am a really smart dog! But the wonderful people at HART tell me that while I am very smart, their favorite thing about me is how friendly I am and my sweet disposition. They keep telling me over and over what a 'good dog' I am! That makes me feel good because I know from experience that is it wonderful to be around good dogs. So I am smart and friendly and I am also loving too and like getting petted. I am also very clean in my kennel run and kennel and I don't chew on anything. I would love to meet you and show you firsthand what a good dog I am. Please let the nice people at HART know if you want to meet me - I look forward to seeing you! Thank you for your interest in Sirius! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16984 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Sirius, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: lindsay.homewardtrails@gmail.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Scheduled meet and greet LOCATION: Foster home in Alexandria, VA ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Lindsay Handsome Turk is part of the darling Gemstone litter! This adorable boy is always up for fun, making everybody laugh with his antics - when he's not nestled into our laps. These pups were born in foster care, and they've been thriving ever since. They're nurtured by sweet 33-lb Mama Gemma, plus a human foster mom who happens to be a trainer who specializes in puppies. They get wonderful exposure to kind humans, tolerant resident dogs, and a cat who's seen it all. They use a litter box, they're learning to sit to say please, and they love to come when they're called. The pups are a super mutt mix, with DNA revealing almost 20 breeds, and it looks like they'll end up between 40 and 50 lbs. ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50-60 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: This litter of 7 has been in a foster home with other friendly, adult dogs. Puppy socialization and early exposure to other dogs is a key aspect of ensuring your puppy grows up to be confident and social around other dogs. KNOWN WITH CATS: While the puppies have been in a foster home with a cat, we cant be sure how they will adjust as they get older. We can provide some tips for introducing a cat to a puppy, if you're interested. KNOWN WITH KIDS: These puppies will do well with considerate children, and we can provide some tips to you if you're thinking of bringing a puppy in to your home. KNOWN COMMANDS: These pups are still young and eager for learning new tricks! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: These puppies are working housetraining and crate training. Everyone is doing great and will be set up for initial transition to their adoptive homes. Puppies do require a lot of encouragement and a strict schedule to continue successful progress in their new home. Story
Lulu is a 17 month old female Rottweiler. She is very smart and sweet and loves to be rubbed. She needs a home with a fenced yard and I am unable to provide that to her at the moment. You can walk her on a leash but she prefers to roam in a yard and spend time lying around. She also has hip dysplasia (well maintained) so she needs a home with minimal stairs. She also needs an experienced owner/trainer that is patient because she can be strong willed but will listen. She is very motivated by small pieces of honey ham.

She is extremely sweet and loving. She loves all people, dogs, cats and kids. She has a fun personality and likes to be noticed (I mean, what cute girl doesn't) =) Lacey will make a great family pet who will give you years of love and loyalty. She will be fully vetted, microchipped and spayed prior to adoption. She is available to be sent to you via ground transport.
