Among her people, Winnie is confident, affectionate and gentle. She loves chasing around her foster family's two year old and shoving her head into laps for petting. Despite her adorable looks, Winnie adores chasing after tennis balls in the house or yard for hours and taking long walks. She is highly food motivated and has learned commands and recall with ease. For avid hikers and walking enthusiasts, she is a delight on leash and as a high-energy breed, she demands exercise. Winnie is nervous around strangers and has some destructive behaviors due to separation anxiety. She is perfectly happy in her crate with company in the room and would prefer a home active enough to meet her exercise needs where at least one human is home regularly. She prefers to eat with company and is an enthusiastic chewer when provided with appropriate things. She is protective of her toys with other dogs and small children, but very gentle when she is upset. As Winnie is a Poodle, it's also important that prospective adopters understand that she needs to be brushed regularly and groomed every 6-8 weeks to keep her gorgeous coat in healthy condition.
