Story

I got Dovah from a friend who has her sister. She’s a happy, high energy dog. She loves to play and run around with her favorite toys and is extremely treat motivated! She’s only a year and a half old. She does fine with dogs and cats but will chase the cats if they run because she thinks it’s playing. She’s extremely smart and knows sit, heal, leave it, and down as long as you have treats on you. She is a little bit Mouthy (never breaks skin ever ) and is reactive (excited to see) to people coming in the house. She guards food will have to be fed in her kennel. She will need more foundational training, would do great in a training class. I would like her to go home as the only dog in the household , but able to interact with family and friends dogs. She does still love to play with dogs or someone who can provide good 1 on 1 time with her for multiple hours a day. She’s mostly potty trained as long as she gets out 3 times a day! Comes with a large steel cage and other items!

On September 11th, 2015 Sonny was hit by a car in Chicago and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control.  He sat there for almost a week.....his euthanasia date was set but that didn't stop ICARe president Margaret from doing everything possible to save his life.  After many, many phone calls and emails we got Sonny to safety and more importantly to see the vet!  Tests were done showing a spinal cord injury that will not heal.  Sonny had no use of his back legs.  He also could not urinate on his own so his bladder had to be expressed manually.   Let me tell you how amazing this dog is. He can now urinate on his own AND even more amazing is Sonny is getting therapy and regaining the function in his back legs. He can take several steps and stand on his own! Sonny has some wheels to help him get around on longer walks as his front end is very strong and he is perfectly capable of going all over!  Sonny needs a special, special forever home.  A family that will love him and treat him like a king.  April 16, 2024, 11:35 am

I'm not sure why because I am super friendly, love visitors, and have a few dog friends that I enjoy playing with. Running in a big yard would be my dream come true. I can't wait to meet you!  I was born around 05/2015, I weigh 55 pounds and my adoption fee is $250.  I have a thyroid issue, so I have to take my thyroid medicine twice a day.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cin cinnati, Lexington KY, or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225 . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. So you know about my "kissable" mug, right?? Shar peis have the big "fluffy" cheeks and soft sweet nose, not to mention the eyes that stare into your SOUL!! Yes, that is ME!!! Now I am a Shar Pei mixed girl, but it's as obvious when you meet me, as the nose on YOUR face :) I am Annabelle and I was dumped with my 9 puppies when they were teeny and I was starving :( LUCKILY, we were dumped by one of our AMAZING public servants (Fire Chief) and his wife, they knew they couldn't just leave us to die... SO THEY SAVED US!!! And let me tell you, we are A LOT of love, kissing and WRINKLES! My pups are all being adopted and I am ready for MY furever home too!!
