Story
Jiah is a sweet, cuddly, 7-year-old Shar Pei mix who loves being around people. She's great with kids and dogs but has a high prey drive to keep cats and critters out of the yard. Jiah loves to play, walks well on leash and is house and crate trained. She knows commands like come, sit, stay, lay, off, no, and out of the kitchen. We hike off-leash and she has great re-call...she usually come on the first call unless she's investigating something! She loves all treats equally and takes them gently. She'll also snag any unattended food! This sweet girl struggles with separation anxiety. She takes trazadone daily and finds comfort in being crated while I'm at work or running errands. Jiah would do well in a home with lots of activity and attention, whether that's with kids, other dogs, or people who can take her out regularly. If you think Jiah might be a good fit for you, reach out and we'll schedule a meet up! She comes with food, puzzle bowl, collar, leash, and sweaters.

Story
Edith came to us from a crowded southern Ohio pound. She's a Shar Pei mix and has been doing well in her foster home! She is friendly with everyone she meets and thinks she's a lap dog! Edith does well on car rides and has quickly become a favorite at the vet! Edith would do well with a fenced yard, she is still working on her leash skills. She is very sweet and would thrive in a home where she would get a lot of attention! Edith needs a home with no cats. Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

Story
Meet Yoyo, the charming Shar Pei/Pittie mix with a heart as big as his adorable, boopable nose. Yoyo may seem a bit shy at first, but once you get to know him, you'll discover a bubbly guy who loves humans as much as he loves other dogs. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home where he can thrive without the hustle and bustle of children, he would be most comfortable with children 14&yp. Yoyo can easily get overwhelmed in new situations, so a calm and understanding environment would be ideal for him to blossom into his true self. One of Yoyo's greatest joys is spending time with his furry friends. He's the social butterfly of the shelter, making him the most popular pup in playgroup with both boys and girls alike. If you have a playful and established canine companion, Yoyo would fit right into your family like a missing puzzle piece. He would love to learn his big-boy manners from another pup who will also wrestle with him. Yoyo is sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet him. Despite his initial shyness, he keeps a tidy kennel and eagerly looks forward to leisurely walks where he can explore the world around him. YoYo is available for foster, foster to adopt and an outright adoption! Email us at foster@cuyahogacounty.us today to learn more about this hunk!

Story
Say hello to Rollo! She is a 4 year old Shar-Pei mix who weighs 58 pounds. Rollo can be a sensitive gal when meeting new people, but she is a total lovebug once she knows you. With some patience and plenty of tasty treats she is ready to snuggle up for some love. She enjoys going on walks and playing with her toys, but is especially happy to spend her time outside soaking up the sunshine. Rollo shows potential to live with dogs if they're a good match. Due to her initial sensitivity, if there are children in her forever home they need to be ages 13 and older. If Rollo looks like the girl for you, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about her and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Story
Friend! Thanks for stopping by, I sure love visitors and can't wait to tell you all about my favorite thing...ME! I am a sweet, young boxer mix who was picked up as a stray, wandering down the road with my sister. Seems likely my owner kicked us out when we got too old to sell, so we took to the streets. Thankfully we didn't have to stay there long and found our way to some amazing people called DOG RESCUERS. I've been in a foster home for a while now, and what I can tell you is that I love my foster family, and I love to play with the dogs who already lived in the home. It takes me just a bit to warm up to new people; after all, I was tossed out like trash before so am nervous of that happening again. My ideal home would have another playful dog for me to learn from; not only will it help get my energy out, but it would also help me learn house manners and will help me bond with my human family. I am crate trained and doing great on potty training, with only an occasional accident. Pretty much the perfect package here. Please consider applying to adopt me; I would really love a family to call my own! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 8 months Adoption fee: $350

Story
Venus: the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Venus: also my name and, while I'm not Roman, I was picked up as a stray, roamin'. I am around 2 years old and 40 pounds, and have the most beautiful face you might have ever seen. When I was picked up, I tested positive for heartworm and was covered in urine stains, which means that I probably spent a lot of time outside, in a small area where I had to sleep on the same spot that I used the bathroom. This almost ended in a death sentence for me, until Multiple Breed Rescue agreed to take me, get me the treatment I needed, and give me a chance to find a real forever family. I am partway through my heartworm treatment now. I have two injections to get still, on May 13 & 14. After that, I need another 30 days of low activity, then I can start resuming normal life. You don't need to worry about my heartworm, though. You can't catch it from me, and I can't give it to other pets in your home, so other than staying calm for a little while longer it's not really a big deal for me, and I hope it's not a deal breaker for you. Afterall, the alternative was that I was going to be euthanized, so picking treatment was a no brainer for me! I've been in a foster home for a little while now, and my foster mom really loves me. I like to be in my crate, and I like to go on leashed walks, which works out well with my treatment plan. I get along great with the people I meet, including kids, and have gotten along great with other dogs, too. I love to get cuddles and pets from my foster family, and they like that I don't slobber them with too many kisses. I like to play with toys, and am very treat and food motivated. I don't chew things I shouldn't, I don't get into the garbage or take things off the counter, and I am potty trained so only do my business outside. Foster mom says I am the best girl, and she seems to really know what she's talking about, so I believe her when she tells me that. My ideal family is one that will take me on adventures, who has plenty of toys for me, and who will shower me with the love I deserve. Please pick me to complete your family! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Story
Joy: the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good; elation. Boy, if that doesn't describe me! I am Joy and I am elated to be living this life. I am a 5-year-old short, squat low rider, weighing about 55 pounds. I might be all muscle, but that's all the better for me to muscle my way into your heart and to force you to LOVE me. I was found wandering the streets and, when brought to the local shelter, I tested positive for heartworm. Thankfully I was picked to go to a rescue that day, as some of my other friends at the shelter weren't so lucky. I came so close to dying, and was absolutely elated to make it out alive. Let me tell you a little bit about my heartworm treatment. I don't want it to scare you off; after all, without it, I wouldn't be here still. I am partway through treatment; I have back-to-back injections on May 5 & 6, and then another 30 days of low activity. After that I can start resuming a normal life. As for my heartworms, you can't catch them, and neither can the other pets in your home, so no need to worry about that! Now, for the good stuff, all about me. I am destined to be friends with every human I meet. I don't understand or value your personal space, at all. For this reason alone, I may not be a great fit for small kids as they might not want to be smothered with my love. I am crate and potty trained, I'm obsessed with my red rubber ball, and I live to snuggle and get face rubbies. I'm not looking to be anyone's hiking partner; short walks for some sniffs then getting down to business, then back inside where the food and couch is work just fine for me. I guess I'm what you could call a couch potato. One area I might not shine in is my ability to be friends with kitties, so I need a cat free home, please. If all this sounds great to you, and you could be the almond to my joy, complete your application today! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.
