Story
Meet Dewey, a 1 year old, 28 lb Shiba Inu with a beautiful red sesame coat who came to Wish Bone unsocialized and afraid - usual noises in a home, sudden movements, even stuffed toys frightened him. With all of his fears though, he has never shown any aggressive behavior. Dewey is making progress in his foster home, but still has a ways to go to overcome his fears and gain confidence. He trusts his foster mom, gives her kisses, takes treats very gently and is becoming more confident inside the home.  He is still working on leash training and isn't ready for walks in the neighborhood.  Dewey is housetrained, crate trained, quiet, gets along well with the other dogs in the home and has just started to show interest in playing with one of the foster's dogs. He enjoys getting brushed, hanging out in the family room and chewing on a bully stick.  He would do best in a quiet home with a family that has the patience and compassion to give him the time he needs to overcome his fear while he adjusts to a new home.  Dewey's adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 registration fee for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.   To fill out our adoption application, go to:http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html     Wish Bone Canine Rescue  1303 Morrissey Drive Bloomington, IL 61701 www.wishbonecaninerescue.org           Since its our desire that you have a pet you can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the pet is the best match for you and your family.  We require that you complete our online www.wishbonecaninerescue.org (Please give us 24 hours to verify your information). Story
Introducing Louie, the sweet and sensitive counterpart to his confident brother, Huey and shy brother Dewey! Louie may initially seem a tad timid, but beneath that initial shyness lies a heart of gold ready to warm up to the right family. Like his brothers, he's a 10-month old Shiba Inu. He weighs about 27 pounds and is likely done growing.  Louie prefers a slower pace, taking his time to assess his surroundings before diving in. He embodies all the classic traits of his breed—intelligent, loyal, and oh-so-endearing. Once Louie feels comfortable, he's all about sneaking in gentle kisses. Despite his nervous tendencies, he quickly melts into affection and craves the closeness of his human companions. We'd love for him to have a secure fenced yard due to his timidness and his love to explore the yard. For Louie to truly thrive, he'll need a patient and understanding family who can provide him with plenty of mental and physical stimulation.  Louie's adoption fee includes all necessary vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, and more. With his gentle demeanor and heartwarming personality, Louie is sure to be a cherished addition to any family lucky enough to welcome him home. So, if you're ready to open your heart to this sweet and sensitive soul, you might just hit the jackpot with Louie! He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
