Story
She was born in June and is currently 11yrs old She has lived most of her life as an indoor dog and has experienced being an outdoor dog on a covered and gated porch. She is a sweet dog to adults and teens once she has a chance to warm up to them. She should not be homed with infants, small children, or other animals as she is aggressive towards them. She should be the only animal in the house. She is leash, potty, and crate trained.

Story
Meet Sora! Sora is an 8 month old, 21 pound Shiba Inu. Sora is a Velcro boy, he just wants to see what you're up to and have eyes on you. He's playful and sweet, and approaches new things with mostly curiosity, although some reassurance may be needed as he gets used to the world and continues building his confidence! He's recently learned he loves face smooshes and butt scritches, and accepts them happily. He's a big sniffer, with the occasional lick. He loves other dogs- wants to play and sniff all over them. Sora is still learning how to walk on leash, but really enjoys being outside around people and dogs. He would do fine as a solo dog, fine with kids, but I think would benefit from having dog presence. Sora will do best with consistent exercise and brain stimulation, and he's already house trained! He's newly obsessed with peanut butter kongs, and makes quick work of them. If you're looking for a sweet, smart, social Shiba- Sora may be the guy for you! Sora is currently being fostered in Brooklyn NY. His adoption fee is $800. Sora is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Hana! Hana is a 6-8 month year old, 25 lbs Shiba Inu. Hana has a typical shiba personality. He is a shy pup and takes time to warm up. He likes to follow other dogs and would be best in a home with a dog sibling that can help build his confidence. He is quiet but curious and enjoys his pats when he comes up to you. Hana gets excited going outside and prefers to walk around freely and/or leads you on his walks. He may be suited in a house with a yard. Hana is not very food driven but loves his soft/raw food. He enjoys chew toys and kongs. He is housetrained and let's you know when he needs to go outside. Hana is crate trained and enjoys car rides. Hana is currently being fostered in Edison, NJ. His adoption fee is $800. Leo SCAS is a beautiful big-eared boy who's looking for an active household as he is the perfect match for a running or hiking partner. He is currently about 1 year old and 48 lbs. Leo has a lot of love to give and a lot of energy to burn! Leo loves people and other dogs! He would love a home with a yard or a furry companion to be able to zoom around with - check out the video of Leo in the play yard! He'd love a playful buddy. Leo also loves to roam and explore.  Leo knows basic commands, he is house trained and crate trained. In fact, he should be crated when he is left alone or else he might find something to nibble on. He is playful, kid and dog friendly. He is so soft and adorable. If you've got the right kind of home for this boy, please apply to adopt LEO SCAS at www.ehrdogs.org  March 27, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)            8-year-old 30lbs Roxy, a Siba / Bali Dog mix was found in the middle of a village road in Bali, Indonesia. She was frantic. Her rescuers could smell rotting flesh and see the telltale marks of a string embedded deep in her neck. It's a common occurrence in Bali where small dogs have a string placed around their neck and they aren't touched again so it is never removed. As they grow the string becomes painfully tight around their neck causing terrible wounds. Roxy would have suffered like that for many years. Roxy was caught and taken to the vet where it was revealed she had just given birth. Her rescuers returned to the 'home' she had been living in - her living conditions were terrible. They discovered her babies had been thrown into the jungle just after their birth. The same had happened to all her other litters. It was too late to save her babies, but it wasn't too late to save Roxy. After a long stint in the vet, Roxy's physical wounds healed in her loving foster home with her foster Mama Roxy's emotional wounds healed too. Roxy is approximately 8 years old, sterilized and vaccinated and she's looking for her forever cuddle person. Roxy is now extremely sassy. She's making up for all that lost time without cuddles and just loves attention. She knows what she likes (walks, bum scratchies, her spot on the couch, cheese, cuddles, sunbathing and Netflix and chill) and she knows what she doesn’t like (being ignored and raw meat). Roxy doesn’t let any of her horrid past stop her special skill - showing everyone her very beautiful smile. She’s good with other dogs and isn't interested in chasing cats.       All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
