Story
We found peanut in a pet store where he was bullied by larger puppies and we couldn’t bare the thought of this so we found a way to bring him home. He weighs less than 7lbs and is a pure toy poodle. He is classified as a hypoallergenic breed which made for a perfect pet for my allergy prone daughter. Peanut is a lively little guy that loves to be with his owner and loves to snuggle. He is a little over 3.5 years old so still very active but without the over the top puppy energy. Peanut is my daughter’s dog and she is having to move for school and is unable to take him because dogs are not permitted. While this is very tragic for our family he needs a family who will be better positioned to dedicate quality time that he is accustomed to and deserves.

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   NOT IN VPDate into Rescue: 4/19/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? none noted - but for our poodle loving friends, Jessy does shed lightly Weight: 6.2 lb Height: 8 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but a fenced in yard is a wonderful safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Jessy is a wonderful little guy that wants nothing more than to be sitting in your lap getting loved on. He's a marvelous guy and we hope he won't be here with us for very long. He's just too cute of a cuddle bug to last. Jessy is a two-year-old miniature poodle mix (mixed with some sort of terrier) who was a breeder release due to their retirement. He has the most adorable little face and the calmest demeanor you can imagine. Jessy walks on a leash but doesn't like it. He prefers to be carried in your arms. Leash training should be in his future with his adopter. Jessy also will need to be taught basic commands such as sit, stay, down, come and the like. Jessy hopes his adopter will be home most, if not all, of the day to teach him and provide him with a loving lap to lie in. He gets along fine with other dogs and cats. Jessy will do well in either a house or an apartment. He doesn't need, nor does he want, very much exercise. Give him a walk or two a day or a run around your fenced yard will do. Jessy would be a wonderful dog for anyone, be they a retiree, a single adopter, couple, or a family so long as they have a welcoming lap for him. Everyone here loves the little guy, and we expect everyone that sees him will as well. If you are looking for an adorable little lap dog, Jessy is your guy. Come check him out before he's gone. What is my personality like? Jessy is calm, mellow, and loving. He expects every human he encounters to provide him with a loving lap to lie in. He gets along fine with dogs and cats. We don't know if he plays with toys. How do I act when I first meet new people? Jessy won't run up to greet you, but he'll happily let you pick him up and carry him or place him in your lap. If you sit on the ground it won't take long before he makes his way onto your lap for some loving pets and scratches and belly rubs. This cute little cuddle bug is sure to be in demand so come check him out before he's gone. Other tips and tidbits: We celebrate Jessy's birth date as 4/19/2022.  This is an estimated date. We do not know his exact birthdate.  We think Jessy is a good bit of terrier. We do not think he is hypoallergenic. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. May 5, 2024, 7:40 pm

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Aramis Adoption fee:  $200.00   All for one and one for all! Aramis is ready to have a family to join and give you all his devotion. This sweet poodle came from a shelter in Alabama. He was a stray and so there is no information about his background. Suffice it to say it was probably dismal since he was just terrified to begin with. But love and patience go a long way with this boy. He has learned he is safe in Rescue and can relax. He arrived at around 15 pounds and gained a little weight and is probably 17 pounds now. We figure he's around 10+ years old...hard to say. He only had his eye teeth and they stuck out like Tusks. But he lost them in his dental. He needed stitches to prevent fistulas, so he has been getting his food softened. But he's just happy to have his food! He needs to be fed separately from any others. He's not food aggressive but he does growl if someone gets too close to his bowl while he is eating. So we want to reduce his stress. He loves to get his chest rubbed! And he likes to stretch out next to you on the sofa. Every now and then he wanted to get up on the bed to sleep with his foster mom and was good as gold all night. He's well house trained but will need your patience as he acclimates to a new environment. And he's good about grooming till you get to his face. He's not sure about having his face shaved! But we got through it. If you have room for your own Musketeer, Aramis is ready to join up! He's being fostered in Wilmington, NC just waiting for his big chance!   Adoption fee: $200.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.   To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.   NOTE: SCMR DOES NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. We thank you for whatever you can help us with. Any donation is appreciated and is tax deductible, as allowed by law,  as we are a qualified non-profit 501(c)3 organization.    All our males are sent with BELLY BANDS!    for a one time Donation that goes direct to SCMR please go to our paypal link: April 30, 2024, 6:39 pm
