Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $100 if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out of state adoptions. Looking for a four-legged friend who is silly, sweet, and super fun? Meet Willow, a lovable goofball ready to make you laugh and melt your heart. Willow has been staying with a professional trainer (Thank you, Carmen with Inspired Paws of Cookeville!) to help establish her foundation of basic obedience. Willow is a 15-month-old, 40lbs Mt Cur / Coonhound / Pit Bull Terrier mix who gets along great with other dogs who can match her energy, adores humans, and is confident. She loves to wrestle with stuffed toys, or play tug-of-war with her doggy pals. Willow also loves to fetch a tennis ball. When tuckered out from playing, she can often be found snoozing in her kennel, or curled up on a blanket. Willow has learned to walk well on leash and enjoys going for car rides.  Willow is quickly becoming at pro at the basic commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, Heel, Place, and Off. She is fully housetrained. When she is adopted, the trainer is happy to meet with her new family free of charge to help with the transition, show off her training, and support her new homecoming! The ideal home for her will have a fenced yard with enough space for her to run and play. She would also love someone who will take her on hikes and outdoor activities.  If you’re looking for a goofy and affectionate buddy who will make you smile and laugh all day, EVERY day, look no further than Willow.    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. March 27, 2024, 11:13 am

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
My name is Winnie and I am a loving 7 year old, 50 pound girl that is a beautiful Hound breed called a Tree Walker.   I was found as a stray in the middle of a rural highway and I am such a soft and gentle girl that loves to lay around and sleep and just be an easy couch potato friend. I am housebroken, love a good tummy rub, pretty nice to all other dogs that I meet and I would be a great companion to a senior, retired person or couple who are looking for an easy dog to love.  I am healthy and spayed and microchipped and I am told that I am pretty, too.  Would you like to have a sweet companion for the next 7-8 years.  I will be happy to make your life so much more special if you invite me home.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is ready to help you adopt me if you write to them at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $500

Story
Meet Aurora: Aurora is about a 4.5 year old (as of March 2024) treeing walker coonhound mix (best guess) that weighs about 40 pounds. Aurora was found as a stray on the side of the road in Mississippi. A good person was feeding her, but worried about her as a stray by the road so they luckily reached out and we were able to get her into rescue. It seems as though she may have been an abandoned hunting dog. Aurora is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. Aurora has a wonderful personality! She is very playful outside, loves to cuddle, and is very gentle. Sweet Aurora likes to lean in for snuggles and will follow her person around from room to room to snooze nearby. Aurora has done well with other dogs - both large and small.  She has played nicely with a 5 year old child and has been very patient with children with special needs. Aurora wants to be near you and would prefer to tag along for car rides than stay home alone in her crate. Aurora is house trained, but accidents could be expected when adjusting to a new environment. We would love for Aurora to have a home with a fence so she can play, run and follow her nose freely, but it is not necessarily a requirement. Aurora is up to date on her shots and spayed. If you are interested in adopting this gorgeous girl, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.
